The dunks are amazing. I mixed a handful of pucks into a 5gal bucket one time and treated the whole back end of my property. A lot of swamp around me so there were lots of mosquitoes. Well there were ALOT less after the BTi it was crazy the difference I could actually work in my yard again. I’ve not used them in my grow as I’ve always had success with H2O2+gnatnix as a one-shot solution. These days I think it would take a pretty bad infestation for me to even care about treatment. I usually just focus on making my root zone healthier and the problem fixes itself.
Day 51/21
Doing their thing, been feeding the less desirable plants some FPJ at various concentrations jsut to get a gauge of it which it has been proceedingly knocking them down and out, so one plant got fed today at alot lower concentration just to see, but the other two plants were removed, but that allowed the two GSCxDD’s to come over.
Day 14
Need to do some selections and start thinning this out cause well yeah…
Day 54/17/15
Left side took out all the DS that were in the cups as i needed and will be needing more space for the other plants. Repotted the GSCxDD to the bigger square pots, and moved two over from the other side.
The flowering DDf2’s are probably gonna be chopped early just cause i need the space back pronto, but they are far enough along and will be resin extracted anyways, so im not really concerned, but have been trying to let them go as long as possible. Also couple of their lowers have seeds halfway to being finished, so when chopped i’ll be leaving those bud sites so they can finish but the plants may get relegated to a window sil.
Day 17
And the reason why i need the space…
So two were culled, two got moved over to the other side and still packed, also i want to reduce the numbers to 8 total vs the 12 as then i can setup the autowatering, right now i’ve just been hand watering once in the morning with about 100-120ml of feed water a day. But they are starting to fight for space and are moving quick. Also running out of MC and none of the smaller bags are in stock, so ill be transitioning over to Maxibloom when the time comes.
So 4 will get moved over to the other side as soon as i chop those flowering plants which i expect to happen in the next day or 2.
All this was done on Mega crop ?
I have two of them little bags just sitting here, I don’t know how to use it for small applications. Some say better to mix large quantities or resz. I only need like a gallon or less, some days.
Yeah it was, and ive had my ups and downs with megacrop but keep coming back to it mainly for the ease, but it does have some caveats.
With my experience with it this is what works for me, first grind the stuff you have to make it all in powdered/smaller form cause otherwise it hard to mix up consistent smaller batches, i use just a magic bullet for that, i also keep a small glass jar of it seperate from the bag and use from the jar just cause its hygroscopic and can gum up the bag real quick if its not sealed properly. Also yeah making bigger batches does save on time later as you can just go fill up from your holding vessel, but myself if im doing that im only making 2gals at a time as well i use a 2 gal bucket for that, or i just mix up smaller batched in a 2 Liter pitcher when needed.
All those plants above get fed at around 1.4-1.5 ec seedlings get 0.8-1.0 ec for maybe the first 5 days but i also pH adjust it now, old V1 stuff always came out to the correct ballpark pH wise, but this newer v2/v3 stuff drops me into the acidic range, but saying that due to lack of any pH buffers it takes very little to adjust, but also allows for quicker swings to happen in your root zone in my observations, and with me being in coco typically as soon as my reservoirs get into the 6.3-6.5 pH range issues start showing up, but getting them back to say the 5.5-6 range those issues go away.
But yeah, just grind your MC and use a secondary smaller container to pull from, and use dry spoons.
That’s all sound information, thanks…
I’ll definitely keep that in mind, for future use. Atm I’m trying to use up my supply of liquid nutes, because of that shelf life after opening. That’ll be a few grows out tho, then maybe use it for my vegging plants.
Also, if you will ? How do you use maxi bloom for your veg cycle ? I also have a bag of this lying about
well maxibloom you just have to run at higher levels, i prefer maxigro for start in the past but been trying only maxibloom as well, have to run in around the 1.8 EC range and you need quite abit of pH adjusters cause fo the amount of buffering agents it has in it, but seedlings or say that first 5days to a week i have fed in the 1.2-1.4 ec range
Nevermind, I just checked in my stash box and noticed that it is powdered kool bloom. NPK of 2 - 45 - 28 , last time I used it, it caused herm on a couple of plants.
never used the stuff but most just use it in the last 3-4 weeks of flower, and i would more assume the plants were just hermi prone than that being the issue but who knows.
So side topic to discuss with you all following along, you may have noticed i started doing updates every three days, one for my own picture archive, but also to show greater progression between pics, and thinking about server storage and usage aka less pictures less often.
But here’s the conundrum, a lot of people post pics frequently to either try and create discussion or to try and feed their desire for the “social media likes”, now we can get into the whole why that’s probably not healthy and all but were all here doing it anyways in our desired capacities …
But to spur discussion whats your thoughts on that, and in order to maybe help shape and alter my own content that i share, should we start having some discussions on certain topics, and or maybe creating some breeding project for fun and having discussion on all that.
How can we focus or expand some things to either share in the learning process or expand in our fun with our hobby.
I’m just finishing a third round, clones from same plant. No issues from last two grows, kool bloom was definitely the culprit. Or myself mis using it. Last two rounds I used just flora bloom, and this round using sparingly, less than directions say
*just read your last post, my bad if I’m interrupting
your not as this is further discussion ;), and could be that or other environmental influences, again have never used the stuff and my experience with bloom boosters and whether they work or not is very limited to non existent, other here that are following what are your thoughts on them or have any of you also have had issues ?
My thought has always been that unless the grow is already decent maxed out with most of its factors that a bloom booster doesn’t really do much or is needed and that maybe peoples experience with them is because they are supplementing a grow that may be limited in where a bloom booster does helps, kinda band-aiding the problem but not actually fixing the root cause, also just another product for you to buy and get the feel goods from that your providing what you can/
But honestly i really don’t know, whats some of your experience and thoughts on them for those who have used them ?
I’ve definitely noticed an improvement using bloom boosters during flower, specifically Grotek Monster Bloom. It is my understanding that most bloom enhancers contain sulphur in some form, as well as the fact that P and K both contribute to sulfide production. Sulphur is important not only for it’s effect on how our buds taste and smell but also for aiding in enzymatic processes that occur in both the root zone and plant itself.
what improvements were noticeable, and can you say that its wasn’t solving maybe a potential lack in the base nutrients.
The smell and arguably size of flower. I’ve used it both indoors and out for years and it always produces better flowers compared to (in some cases) the same strain grown without.
I’ve used it most recently 2 runs ago in the Bridgelux tent and even though my plants were sick in so many ways they still produced fat, dense, resinous, stinky buds.
Of course I cant say for sure, but I’ve had enough experience running it with and without both in good times and bad to see a difference, and the IRL mentor who taught me alot of my base knowledge had used it for years and we always noticed a difference in his flower too.
An interesting topic, one that I have been developing an opinion on due indirectly to you.
Initially, I was planning on documenting my log notes with pictures. That became apparent to me as ‘wrong’.
Then I realized the best approach (for me) was to document what I learned and make it a teaching point. Hopefully that makes it useful for those following behind.
Cheers

Does keep the information open allowing to see the trials that happen, and allow others to follow or learn from your own mistakes and triumphs… well so long as our own egos can be kept in check, cause it’s hard to post failures and vulnerabilities of say knowledge gaps, or lack of experience when were all trying to move forward.
But yeah i agree
Day 20/18
Having some more room with the copped plant i spread them out, then proceeded to make some selections a day later , anyways plants in the right side cab are gonna be purple plants and the left side green leaning plants, with also those GSCxDD in the right hand cab as well.
One of the right hand plants i have started spraying with CS still unsure if this batch is viable but i guess we will find out, oh and the stubbies on the left they just have some seeds that need to finish out still gonna be a week or two for them, but i may throw them in a window eventually.
Day 23/21
Shuffled a little bit, ran out of megacrop yesterday right in the middle of making up a bucket and i overshot water wise so tried doing a half half mix of maxibloom, well the pH was either too low or just didn’t play well concentration wise and was noticing some lower leaf issues this morning, so just made up a full maxibloom mix and gave a slight flush to the plants they seem decent for now.
Gonna make some more selections on the weekend, and open up a side to new plants, may get some basil going as well.
