Growing with Rambozilla

What’s up fellow growers, this is my first topic here. I’m from Brazil and I’ve been growing cannabis since 2007, primarily using organic methods with HPS lighting. Recently, I transitioned to mineral salts and LED lighting. Currently I’m in my second cycle in this new cultivation method, so I still have much to learn.

I’m growing in a 80x80x160cm tent with a 240W LED panel. The medium is coco and perlite. For the nutrients I purchased the salts and prepared my own concentrated solutions, being A calcium nitrate and calcium chloride. And B potassium sulfate, monopotassium phosphate, magnesium sulfate and micronutrients. I am also utilizing leonardite as a source of humic acids.

Currently I’m growing what we call a Paraguayan Sativa, from seeds obtained in the brick weed that is sold where I live.
9th week of flowering:

A few things are not going as I would like, I’m experiencing frequent power outages and unusually high temperatures for this time of year. As you can see there’s some light bleaching going on, it seems that Photone PPFD readings may have been inaccurate.

For my next cycle I’m growing a collab variety between Symbiotic and THSeeds called Desperado. It’s a cross of Amarelo #9 and Pure Afghan.
A shoutout to @Cadu for recommending Symbiotic Genetics and teaching me the correct proportion between water and hydrogen peroxide for seed germination. Thanks!

8 days from seed, utilizing the smartphone’s flashlight as a light source during yesterday’s blackout:

I’m excited to share my next steps with you guys and I invite everyone to follow along and share your experiences, opinions and questions in my diary.

Happy growing!

Wow that brickseed looks like some thickkkkk girls

Do you experience blackouts that often where you are?

@maGrelo Glad to have you here! Make yourself comfortable.

@ClandestinLEE I appreciate it! Hoping this girl keep bulking up nicely.
I’ve had 3 blackouts this month, each lasting 6 hours. The power company is upgrading the distribution network, or so they say. Hopefully things get better for my next cycle.

Very nice growmie! I’ll be along for the ride.
One question is why you germinated Desperado in a flat dish?

Thanks! Happy to have you along, @globalhead

For the germination, I placed the seed in a small cup with a solution of 99% water and 1% hydrogen peroxide. It helps with sterilization, preventing mold and bacterial growth. It also increases oxygen availability, which helps break down seed dormancy and stimulates faster and healthier germination.
When the radicle emerged, I placed the seed between humid paper towels inside a plastic container, allowing the radicle to grow a bit more before planting. The entire germination process took less than two days.

What I’m asking is there a purpose like wanting the roots to spread horizontally to manipulate height when using a flat tray instead of a deeper pot??

I see what you mean! I actually didn’t use a flat tray, it’s a 1.5L ice cream plastic container, but the angle of the photo might have made it look flatter than it is. Hope that clears it up!

The branches were getting heavy, and some were starting to bend under the weight, time for another layer of my DYI trellis net.

Trellis net done and installed. The branches have much better support now. Definitely overdue, but glad I finally got it done!

Kicking off week 10 of flowering! Since it’s a sativa-dominant variety, it’ll probably take longer than usual to fully ripen, and with humidity hitting as high as 80% lately, I’m definitely getting antsy.

I’m still stacking the EC a bit while letting the substrate dry back, but I’m unsure when to cut nutrients. I plan to run at least a week of water-only. What do you guys think?

After four days of pure water, she’s fading real good now. Still, she keeps firing out those white stigmas, refusing to call it quits! 10 more days to complete 12 weeks, then it’s harvest time. Let’s see how she finishes up!

After 12 long weeks, the wait is finally over! This morning, I harvested and hung her up to dry. The final stage is here, in about 10 days I’ll begin the curing process.

Not too bad for a plant from a Paraguayan brick weed seed. Will I do it again? Hopefully not. Thanks to @IndicaDominanT and @darkillusion better genetics are on the way.

Meanwhile, my Desperado will finally get proper lighting after spending four weeks in veg under just 18W white LEDs.

Hopes are high for this one, three more weeks in veg should be enough to let her take over the whole tent.

Much respect, @IndicaDominanT I’ll let you know as soon as I spark her up, those Paraguayan sativas really crank up the anxiety for me, definitely not my chill-time choice. And thanks again for sending the Kite my way, I’ll be watching the skies.

Yeah, Desperado definitely takes after her Afghan father. Thinking 8–9 weeks, but we’ll see. Appreciate the support, stay lifted!

Moved my Desperado into the main tent a couple days ago and she seems to be enjoying her new home.

Gave her a good topping, some defoliation and tucked a few leaves to help light reach the lower sites.

Cloned the top I cut and popped it in a cup filled with perlite. Right now she’s chilling inside an improvised dome, hoping she roots up strong and keeps the lineage going.

Let’s see how she responds over the next few days.

Not much happened since my last update, I just transplanted my Desperado into a 7-liter pot. Other than that, we’ve had some really chilly days around where I live, with temperatures dropping as low as 6°C (42.8°F), so she’s not growing as fast as I would’ve wanted.
