Gumbert's First Grow Log -- FRANKENSTEIN

Good evening @Gumbert . They are about one month from cut. Two weeks in soil now. They will be grown inside as my situation does not work well for outdoor growing. So I won’t be vegging near as long as yours. I have a roughly 5 x 5 space. And I got a feeling it’s going to get quite full.

fret not sir.
we have had some days of 115F here in Texas. all my outdoor plants survive and thrive. cannabis is a lot tougher than people give it credit. i’m pretty sure some arizona growers can boast even higher temps.

give them enough water and they will eat up all the sunlight they can get.

your garden looks great man. especially growing frankie. can be tricky with the nutes. yours look nice and healthy. good job.

Well they look great! When I started min from seed I had no idea what I was doing, LOL . I learned a lot after the first up pot then they out grew thos pots pretty quick too.

Now they are in 5 gallon grow bags and I wish I had used my 15 gallon grow bags instead. I feel like they are root bound right now.

I really want to move them outdoors and put them in the ground but don’t know how that would work…

Live, learn and grow.

Thank you for your reply.

Do you have any experience moving Frankies from a 5 gallon pot to the ground while in veg?

The greenhouse is really hot and will be until October. Been watering 6 times a day and running a mister for 5 minutes every hour during the day hours.

I would like to move them outdoor into the ground in an area I have irrigated. Thoughts?

Not with Frankie, no.

However one thing I use on all my transplants is mykos. I sprinkle it in the transplant hole and all over the root ball to aid the root growth.
Seem to help a lot and reduce transplant shock.

This is good shit. I use it each and every time I up pot.
As for light changes. If you put them outside they will go into flower. Longest day of the year is in just a few days. After that it get shorter each gay. That signals to the plant to produce flowers.
If you have them in five gallon buckets you don’t HAVE to put them in the ground. I have flowered plants outside, in buckets several times. You just have to water frequently.

You can put them in the ground anytime in veg. I recommend it to keep temps and moisture levels from big swings.

If you put them in the ground now and keep them happy, those will be some monster plants, as big as they are now. In your area, I would try to find a spot with afternoon shade. And good morning to noon or one of strong sunlight. It seemed required when I lived in Pensacola. Afternoon sun is brutal.

GOOD MORNING!!

WOW! What a SUMMER it has been! I hope everybody is doing well and things are going to suit all you OGers all over the world.

We are finished farming for the year so now I can get back to having some fun in my new found hobby and growing my medicine for the upcoming year.

It has been quite a while since I posted so I will put up the latest pictures I took this morning, All the ladies are now well over 6 feet tall and really need some TLC. I never moved them out of the greenhouse and man has it be hot down here. I really need to repot them all as the roots have completely filled the pots and I can feel them all the way up to the top surface.

I also need to do some pretty severe pruning as they are about to completely fill on end of the greenhouse. I took about 20 cuttings several months back and all but 2 made it. Please give me your advice on pruning them as you can see they are pretty unruly at this point.

Hope everybody is enjoying your weekend!

I usually start at the bottom, taking anything small stem or dead. Remove all yellow/dead leaves, also take every 2nd or 3rd fan leaf to open it up. Do that all the way to the top. And if it’s getting too tall for ya, don’t be afraid to chop off the top foot or two…
The plants look great!

Good morning Gumbert. Good to see you back. Wow, I knew those girls would be much bigger than our last viewing. Very nice. I will let others advise you on what to do here. As I am always still seeking advice as well. Keep up the good work.
