Handguns and firearms talk

I used to like Jim Jeffries, then I found out he’s a hypocrite.

Pound salt, Jim.

@GramTorino , I like those CZs! I love my 75BD.

I tend to agree with @StillSmoking
“I find it quite interesting that there are people who would fight for their right to grow and consume cannabis and at the same time would like to take away your constitutional right to keep and bear arms…”

Then I remember who Jim Jeffries really is…

Taurus should really recall every gun they ever made…you would be better off pointing a piece of dogshit at someone and telling them to get out of your house rather than a Taurus.

So If I understand you correctly, you are not a Taurus Fan?

The one thing you can count on with Straight Shooters is that you are going to get their opinion and they will Not Hold Back.

Some people are turned off by this but I for one appreciate the honesty and passion.

Ok, now that a Taurus discussion is on the floor I will way in.

The PT Models are known to have had some issues.

I could go on for days about Taurus but let me just say I stay away from them for the most part.

Story time:
With that I purchased a .22 revolver from Taurus a few decades ago. Their .22 revolver is a great training firearm. The trigger is super hard to pull which is 100% perfect for my training style. What you say?
Yep, If you train with a double action wheel gun utilizing double action only. No cocking the hammer back you will develop amazing trigger control. The best thing is a .22 has very little recoil so new shooters will not be turned off by the loud boom and the sore hand or hands. The only thing sore was the shooters finger from pulling that hard ass trigger back slow enough to keep on target. Harder than one would think… Mad respect for masters of the wheel gun.

With that said I do owe Taurus a :+1:

When I lived in NM I worked with a guy “Juan” that had a brother killed due to gang violence and he hated guns. I had many of conversations with him about his hatred… Over a year or so we became good friends and I was able to convince him to come out to the range.

(Please hold … Quick side note…)
It you ever find yourself in Albuquerque you have to check out Shooting Range Park it is a “Go” in my book. At the time I was there they would let you shoot .50 BMG. No tracers or incendiary rounds as an unnamed individual caused a huge grass fire once
It wasn’t me…but I would sure like to meet the guy who did it. :handshake:
It’s the desert and he was simply returning the carbon back to the earth

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program.

So here we are at the range and Juan is 100% intimidated. I go through my spiel about gun safety and training … Blah blah blah…
Now it is time for him to just sit and observe. While I am shooting a bit one of the range guys comes over and starts talking to him. Not sure exactly what he said but Juan was ready to give it a try. I ran him through the .22’s operation and blah blah… Need less to say he ended up the day shooting the Shit out of the Taurus .357 snub nose I had ( The .357 has a nice an smooth trigger pull by the way) He was killing it and actually had to stop because I had only brought a handful (250 or so) rounds for the .357. That day I was able to enlighten the uneducated on firearm safety and proper shooting control. Juan owns a gun or two now and I owe a big thanks to Taurus for that… :+1:

I do not see myself ever purchasing another Taurus firearms though… This doesn’t mean that if someone gave me one I would not check it out…

very nice. I put together a couple of tupperwares g17 and g43. hate the way the 43 fits my hand. still love the 75bd better.

Jim Jeffries can still pound salt.

43 is the glock with a shorter barrel but longer handle right? Like a g19 barrel with g17 handle?

43 has a small (short) handle. I think 3" barrel.

CZ 75bd is way more ergonomic than Glock by far.

Glock 43 is a subcompact and has a 3.41" barrel.

Pic shows representation of differences…

I had one of these. Worst handgun I’ve ever owned. Well other than the Phoenix arms 22 I threw in the trash.

Best. Kimber tli II

I was aware. The 75 is a little heavy to CC, figured plastic would be better but I’m not giving money to the Austrians. Maybe I’ll look at the Italians next.

I’m a firearms enthusiast, retired rifle smith (m14/m1a) , retired riffle stock maker though that may change if things improve politically here in Canukistan. I’m a hunter too and if it ain’t wild meat, I don’t eat it.
For guns… Dlask Custom 1911 commander in 45acp , matte stainless with black controls , several semi auto 7.62 x 51/.308 rifles that include M305, LRB M25 , LRB M14SA, Stag 10 custom 19" .338federal and a 16" in .308
I have several custom lee enfield no1 mkIII converted by me for hunting. Love that .303 brit for dumping black tails.
