Starting a diary here to show a run with beans from brother @stanknugzz77!!! I take my crops in a small space at home… they are made organically, following some KNF/Jadam recipes.
The main source of life in the garden is the humus produced here in the worm farm.
It wasn’t the start I wanted, due to several personal problems… but we’ll correct it over time and everything will work out!!!
6 beans were placed to germinate… the seeds were treated following the KNF principles. Unfortunately one of the beans did not germinate at all… the one circled in red!!!
I used the bags that @DougDawson uses… but I found them too small (barely standing), but the dance continues!!! Here it was a little neglected due to several problems…
Of the 5 beans that were left one of them, unfortunately, I don’t think will survive… the plant germinated upside down the root grew above the soil and ended up damaging it!!!
I grew some Chem^3 this last harvest. Luckily, Stank sent an extra pack because I definitely want to do some more work with them. I didn’t really find a keeper from the first batch, but the potency definitely was present in every plant.
Best of luck to you, I’ve bookmarked your thread so I’ll stop by every now and again!
I didn’t even notice that, wow. I believe mine were quite leggy as well, maybe not to that extent however. This picture was on day 12 of veg at ~400 PPFD:
This photo is from the first days, when I changed the photoperiod to 18/6… I increased the intensity of the lights a little and it seems to have stopped the etiolation. Unfortunately, I had to be absent at the beginning of them and then this happened. This substrate used for germination was improvised and I think it is a bit overwhelming for them at the beginning. I was going to transplant them today into slightly larger pots since they have already established roots, but I discovered that my wife used my pots for other things It’ll be for tomorrow, I’ll have to go to the flower shop!!!
Yeeee! I am excited to see them getting started for you!
It is always beautiful to see kids getting their hands dirty early in life. Much respect to you!
I am sorry to hear that. Remind me on your next order and I will send some more Chem D x Dog Patch Chem^3 to make up for it!
Did this one end up surviving? I hope so!
As @HeadyBearAdventures mentioned, I usually equate leggy seedlings to lower light levels than necessary. Although, I am definitely no expert haha. I didn’t run into anything besides normal seedlings with my run of Chem D x Dog Patch Chem^3 though.
I truly appreciate you brother! Yeah you ordered them before I had even had a chance to check germination rates haha, so I flooded you with them just to be on the safe side.
I am definitely stoked to hear this, as it is what counts the most in my book haha.
I will be looking through a large population of my Chem D x Chem^3 Chem D Bc1 soon to hopefully find a nice male to make my Chem D Bc2. Time will tell. Positive vibes…
She loves to play in the dirt… she has a party with the worms, lol
This morning before I left for work, I took a look at them and it looks like it’s going to move forward … it’s going to be a little behind in relation to the others, but that’s ok!!!
I still have a pack of Black Cherry to pop… next year looks promising!!!
At first the idea is to let the plants grow to about 5 or 6 nodes, do some top pruning and make clones with the cuttings.
Select and eliminate the males and send only the females to the raised cultivation bed.
Yesterday EM5 + OHN was applied foliar to the babies…
I saw some fungus gnats!!!
The humidity is a little high due to the rain that doesn’t stop here, the mosquitoes take advantage!!! Provide a mulch in the pots as well.
I don’t recall any real runts from the Chem D x Dog Patch Chem^3 population that I looked through and I can’t say that I recall anyone else telling me that they found runts, but maybe a mutant? I don’t know. My memory definitely isn’t what it used to be haha. Chem genetics are definitely well-known for putting out some oddballs though, in the way of runts/mutants.
From the sideview in the picture, I can’t really tell what looks like a runt about the plant. Can you describe it? Also, when I try to zoom in, are there trichomes on the leaves or is that my old eyes playing tricks on me? Positive vibes…
They’re not trichomes @stanknugzz77 …
I’m terrible at taking photos and I took photos with the macro lens activated!!! She practically doesn’t have one among us and doesn’t seem to develop like the other three, who continued their lives after being transplanted into the larger pot!!! The soil is the same for all… it was taken from the main pot, which is where the vegetative growth will end and bloom!!!
I made a big mistake with the germination substrate 🤦, it delayed the development of the plants!!! The dwarf is following slowly… But it’s a beautiful green now!!!
