Thanks @beacher! I hope I get a few girls. Running one of each is always a crap shoot.
Your guavas look real nice! Looking forward to watching them in the flower room!
@beacher woohoo!
@Hashtree looking good in here! I just seen that dragonsblood hashplant and WHOA! Keep me posted on the G99’s
I got 5 for 7 females, so they seem pretty girly!
Nice stuff mmm mmm mmm.
One thought though is from what early reports we’ve got the Maui SS will want to be a lot taller than the others(as in flowering stretch) so that might be tricky.
Sounds like a great menu of smoke for sure. Praise OG.
I was thinking about that with the Maui. Hoping to keep it in check with a couple z bends but we’ll see.
How’s that forest doing? Let me know if you want to borrow my chainsaw. You have some serious trees going my friend!
Was out there last night plucking yellowed old leaves & seeing what I might chop first or early because storebought weed SUCKS!
The weather gods gave me a nice heads-up by dropping a few sprinkles the other day so I’ll get some kind of cover over them. The challenges are multiple: budget, garden in mid flower & overgrown, height needed to not create a heat trap is about 16’+ … so the neighbors might notice that.
Definitely want to get a tent & light for myself for x-mas.
Planting straight into the F&D was a little too wet for sprouting. Here’s the lineup that made it. Flipping to flower tonight
Nice dude. You got a good lineup. The Maui SS grows like sob. I can only imagine how big it would have gotten in a 3 or 5 gal pot. The bud from it is sweet n sour pineapple, super clean lemon. If it’s a quick finishing plant, I can’t tell. Also 5 seeds one female. It may be from there already being a ton of females. This is IME.
I can’t wait for the SSDD, G99, and the Marauder. I’m gonna run that pack sooner than later. I’m looking for strains that have any medical properties. I have a hard time sleeping. Anyways, looking great dude. Have a good one. The Red Poison is coming along great. They’re all loving the HID. I don’t think I’d trade it for an led setup unless it’s a cabinet. Be safe bud.

A little update the Marauder never took off. It’s been too wet in this F&D for her to keep up with the other girls. Made a little stand today and hopefully that helps her.
The Maui and the Bluetooth ended up male. Both beautiful plants, I might keep the Blutooth running as I really like a short fat indica and this one is killer. I’ll just have to try the Maui again another time.
Blutooth
Maui sunshine
I’m having a similar issue with my Marauder in flood and drain. I’m really hoping they start to bounce back soon. I’ll know better next time to start them out in a different manner until they’re well established first.
i thought it was just me but the 5 marauders i have in solo cups in soil does not like to be in wet soil. it was slow growth until the soil dried. gave a good watering thinking they were ready same thing slow growth. after i let the soil dry out that time been tiny minute watering around the edge they are happy now. hope this helps the understanding
i’m upgrading the cab this winter and I’m looking for some lighting advice. I bought a 4 pack of quantum boards this summer. They are HLG QB 120 V2 in 3500k up to 70W. I have been running one on a meanwell LPF-60-24 (24v 60W) driver to run a couple of solo cup grows and have been very pleased with the light. Runs silent, cooler and so much more pleasant than my old 100W blurple with similar performance it seems.
Now for my conundrum, I want to use another board on the other side of the cab for some veg and autos. Each side is only 1.88 sq ft or .17 sq meter. I’m looking at 3 options.
-
Get the same driver I have now and run 1 panel in each chamber at 60W each.
-
Get a 90-120W 48V dimmable driver and run two panels in the flower chamber, and use the 60W in the veg/auto side.
-
Last option I have been kicking around is to get another 60W driver and use one of my relays on my raspberry pi to alternate between 2 panels in each chamber with the same effect as a light mover. For example run the left panel for 30-60 minutes, then switch to the right panel for 30-60 minutes, and back again. Each chamber having its own 60W driver and 2 panels.
I’m still new to LEDs and have had a hard time quantifying Watts/sq ft with so many differences in efficiency. My gut tells me option 2 (bigger hammer), but my plants are responding well to the 60W and the figures I’ve seen for quantum boards have said 30W/ sq ft so I should be good with what I have. Option 3 doesn’t cost me any more than option 1 as I already have spare boards and extra relays in the chamber. I would think I would get better penetration and more even lighting. But researching light movers its conflicting whether there is a benefit or not. I have not seen this setup before and am unsure of the proper timing, 30-60 minutes a panel is just a guess.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you
I would go with option #1. 30 watts/sq foot is plenty IME.
Thanks @ReikoX. That makes life cheap and easy! I hadn’t finished these plants but they sure seem happy. Hard to believe there efficiency of these things.
I’m looking forward to finally having a space to run your FAM seeds. I didn’t like the autos outdoors and I think they do better with 18 hours so I have been saving them till I had the right space.
On another note I’m reducing a big batch of green dragon and planning to try your anointing oil recipe with the roots and all. Are you happy with the brand of oils you had pictured? I was going to order last night but the reviews are mixed.
Yeah, I am happy with them. I think they add an extra umph to the topical, and smell fantastic.
Oooh watch out looks like @Hashtree is getting some 16 oz growing skills! Peeps to keep an eye on for the next SOLO CUP!
Thanks. I’ll be happy if I finish this time!
Popped a few Marauders in paper towels to peat. They grew so fast, but then again all of Sam’s seeds I attempted to germ did with no hang ups. Ill make sure I watch them. They growing super fast.
My dude @SamwellBB shout outs. 100% germ and @Hashtree. The Red Poison is getting chopped. Hows the potency?
I’d back up option one, but check out the xlg-75-24-a drivers as they may be a beefier cheaper option
