Going outdoor gonna try to find biggest pots I can 5-10 gal dep on how much size I can use haven’t really scaled my back yard for it yet…but I was gonna go with promix and general hydroponic flora nutes jus the three to keep it simple… I have seen others say you need calmag and maybe silica. I helped with a grow many years ago I don’t remember using anything but promix in the base then didn’t see how he fed cuz I wasn’t around during the flower…I see ppl with all kinds diff nutes and soils or even living…do I need to add anything to my base and will I be ok jus going with the general hydroponics nutes… any suggestions are great…I would be up for anything…I’m jus here for suggestions talking ideas, and trying to learn more…
I use promix HP and botanicare grow and bloom and on very rare occasions the cal mag.
When it’s hot outside and in a 5G and the plants are of a certain size the promix dries out in one day.
I’d go bigger but I’m not really an outdoor guy just a few on my balcony once in awhile.
Theres a guy on youtube who mixes in some of his native soil into his potting mix. Promix is a soilless mix so the added dirt will help with certain minerals. If you have heavy clay soil just mix in about 10-20 percent outdoor native soil. why not just try planting in the ground?
When I grew with ProMIx HP indoors in 5 gallon pails with GroBucket inserts I used GH Maxi series and my well water. I’ve tried boosters and didn’t see any benefit…
I prefer Maxi series/powder over Flora series/liquid. Much easier to weight out grams…
But my main nutrient line is Mega Crop one part !
Cheers
I have been using ProMix BX or HP for a long while.
I always add additional perlite, vermiculite and powdered dolomite lime.
I have used it without problems with Jack’s and Dyna-Grow and Mega Crop nutrients.
Works well for me.
When I made some 5 gal growbags of only Promix HP, I had to feed the plants the entire time… versus my usual amended soil mix.
It’s basically peat moss + perlite. so. plan on feeding the whole time. some 4-4-4 works well, or something balanced.
My preferred mix is half Promix, half soil. then I’m not always feeding into the mix. bone meal in flower, and i’m pretty good.
Take a look at Jack’s 3-2-1. It is super easy, works well, and is only mixing the three parts.
what kind of pro mix are you using as there are several HP BX white bags i use one of the black bag mixes pro mix premium all purpose potting soil it has stuff added they have and organic one as well the premium claims to have enough for 9 months of grow not sure if your in Canada but home hardware has it on sale 21 bucks a bundle compressed bale thing i just have been growing some autos in it witch are kinda light feeders have added nothing so far actually the mix is a little hot IMO and like @Foreigner said you might have trouble with staying ahead of waterings
I’m gonna be using some promix bx this run 60 lb bag
