Been a hot minute since i was on og, was an original overgrow member waaay back when, started growing in 1998 was a cash cropper for many years with multiple rooms etc, have grown most styles and methods and have my preferred ways, having said that i last grew about 5 years ago or so in cyprus, not an ideal climate or location lol, they are pretty strict still and a bit behind the times, well now located in a weed friendly country and have started putting together a grow, got a 5x5 tent, will have a mars hydro fc-e6500 light (led virgin over here so interested to note any differences)
Have had some beans delivered got some blue dream and gorrila zkittles, have cracked a couple and they are at cotyledon stage, will be looking to get them up and get some clones going asap, plan on running 6 or 9 in rdwc 20l buckets with netpots and clay pebbles as medium, am coming out of summer and with leds am hoping that temps will remain manageable, used to use cool tube 600hps back in the day.
Still need to get a couole of bits and pieces to be fully up and running, was thinking of doing a grow diary for those interested, lets see if i still got what it takes lol used to grow oerpetual rooms and a fuckton of weed but suddenly everything feels a bit rusty and im searching the old memory banks for tips and shit i learned the hard way many years ago

Welcome back OG! Hope you have a great time and and a fantastic run! A few tips on the leds if you haven’t heard, up the calmag throughout and i find it detrimental to blast the light all the way up. Overkill on most cultivars

Yh this is the bit im gna have the steepest learning curve i feel, light power vs height, when i put the first ones in im thinking low power maybe 20/30 % and quite close to avoid unnecessary stretch and then slowly up the intensity and height accordingly

Your lights are nicer than mine for sure. That said, I will be looking into UV supplementation…maybe throw up a CMH rig for the last few weeks

No idea lol was hoping to save some bux as used to running 600w hps but upon inspection it would appear that the light i have chosen for the grow may potentially pull around or just over the 700w when full blast but shud cover the area properly with no dark spots etc and last lobger as used to change bulbs every 3rd grow AND by all accounts will be doubtful whether i will be hitting 100% power anyway so less wattage for better coverage with less heat (is the scenario imy weed addled brain lol)
Haha i wished i had grown enough for 5 years however a messy divorce and raid by the drug squad twice in cyprus (1st time found 1 gram of weed i was nicked for its prob good i didnt lol totally legal now where i am d for thefirst time in my adult life im not being criminalised for doing something i have loved since i was 12 years old and it was the crazy 80s lol
On another note built my bubble cloner today and got the mother seedlings under a decent fluro till they are big enuf to get the good stuff so moving forward, as i tell my weed crazed missus its never quick but once ur up and rnning its continuous so we just gotta keep plugging away, glad i only pay around €5 per gram for decent shit at the moment and a little more in the clubs when i have to , used to pay upto €20 per gram in cyprus for plain jane weed lol i average around 2-3 grams a day, was more like a coke habit than weed lol
Hey Big_Poppa, I also sweated the change, HID’s to LED.
The LED horrible years are pretty much behind us now.
I never get involved with how HID’s are so much better then LED’s.
I love them both and use them both, they are tools, to boil buds from stalks.
I’m in a rebuilding mode right now, well I do have a tent of insurance clones, I could not just execute, running from my last haze run, like a normal human would do.
Just build up, start a thread, and get listed on some of seed give away threads.
I do not follow them much myself, as I have so many seeds now, but it is a great way to meet folks and to get a poke of beans together, with breaking the bank.
Anyway, have a blast with your new set up.

You’re story is very similar to mine. 1998 I Bought 7, 1000w MH & HPS. In 2000 started taking all my buddies “store bought” male’s & began breeding them with my females. Making seeds every year following. In 2003 came into my 1st resinous Male. Thought it was a genetic fluke. 2012 got busted somehow keeping grow rights after getting 4 felonies. Continued breeding. In 2016 I stopped selling to the public and focused on growing my own medicine. I also began giving away my breeds to the whole world for free. I have had a tremendous amount of success growing miniature plants in perpetual harvests year & year. I simply share my passion in seed with the masses. Because I can. Love your fellow human.
