Yeah, I’d agree with you and my use of the term F1 was intended to mean a first generation cross. Just like the rest of the US scene, the available CBD strains here are mostly first generation crosses of polyhybrids. Oregon CBD/GTR’s geneticist used to post on ICmag and its clear that they have a much more intentional, scientific approach to breeding. I know they have done some line inbreeding with ACDC and some others that they use in their crosses, but basically everything they offer for sale is a feminized first generation cross. I’d expect their offerings are much more stable than Hoku’s, but still no IBLs on offer.
GTR is really focused on the commercial growers for the US Hemp market that grew out of the farm bill. So as a result they are very careful about breeding for consistent <.3% THC. Their CBD offerings are great for someone who wants very minimal THC. Hoku is much more loose with that, for better and for worse.
