CHONKY af!
Yeah she’s getting there
I think she still has ~30 days left to go so I’m hoping she fills out more. She’s a bit over-watered at the moment and RH is around 37%. Debating on putting in a humidifier… I’ve already messed up the feed once or twice so far so I know she could already be looking better at this point. Could still hit an ounce per branch tho
Purple NL#2’s and MWCB(bottom) coming along.
Basically starting veg now, first real sets of leaves have or are coming in now.
Attempting to pop a Wedding Cake S1 and my last 2 Franco’s Lemon Cheese fem seeds on the left there, but nothing to see yet.
There we go, had posted the wrong pic first
Looking good in here. Did a speed scroll, thanks for sharing.
Still no roots on my Goji cuttings
I had cleaned the res for the aerocloner and redid it with less nutes and they immediately got root rot and yellowed. Sadness. So I cleaned them up and swapped it out again with more nutes and added calcium hypochlorite up front instead of a couple days in. So far so good but they are definitely looking rough. The big one towards the bottom of the cloner is the nl5hss5 girl that does have roots. black pods at top right of the cloner are nl5hss1 boys that I’ve been perpetually cloning. Rest are all gojis. Had to toss one a week ago due to PM infection. Really not a great time with these f3’s.
Still have two solo cup clones of my NL55 girl on the left, the big one at top left is one of them. I need to either replace one or up-pot and flower it and my FLC reveg is still coming along too. Still another couple weeks until I can take clones of her. The other two cups on the left are one of the NL5(HSS)5, and a NL5(HSS)1 boy.
I think I want to wait until I have flower-able clones of my NL55, FLC, MWCB… Maybe Goji or PNL2 too, and make a batch of sts and get fem pollen from all of them. I’d like to take the NL55 girl directly to the FLC, and the mwcb to the NL55. If I can get one or both of my last FLC fems up I might try and… F2… Them? Would it be an S1? Two fem girls of two fem girls… Would at least give me more directly to work with later…
Careful with the nutrients when rooting clones, if there is any light exposure it can kill them. That includes nutrient solution getting on the top of those neoprene pucks. If that nutrient is exposed to light, rotifers and algae will kill everything. I use nothing to root clones, just water and light. I add nutrient AFTER they have root nodes.
I’d keep an eye out for the resurgence of the PM, it can easily be killed though, by spraying your vegging plants twice with sulfur 2 weeks apart. Never spray in bloom.
Yeah I usually wouldn’t use nutes but already have some rooted in here.
Definitely good to know on the sulfur though! I’m a firm believer the plants that have PM, came with it from birth. I noticed the telltale signs on her stem during veg before taking the clone. The plant didn’t show it in the leaves but the clone did.
Thanks for stopping by
heh heh I consider powdery mildew to be a level 1 pathogen, it’s something I kill off over the weekend and never see again. Usually it’s introduced on clones that already have the pathogen, but I suppose if you live near an area growing hops, you could get infested from there. Or if someone you know is growing infested weed and visiting your grow. Germ theory of disease. 90% of the time it comes in on clones, though. People will make strange claims about the mildew living inside the plant but that’s not true it’s an exoparasite like a flea.
Hmm I only had it on a couple of these seed plants. I haven’t ever taken in any clones or other plants. My other seeds plants don’t have the stem nodules that are supposed to be the sign it’s infected even if you don’t see it on the leaves.
Could definitely be an external pathogen, that only some of these Goji’s specifically were susceptible too or the couple that had it came from the seed… maybe just a thinner skin on some plants or something
Hey @HolyAngel. I’m just rolling threw your thread and earlier you were having issues with your roots for a while and you said you had seen a big difference after using clorox instead of pool shock. How much do you put in per gallon.
What nutrients do you use? Your reservoir water is so clear. I use General Hydroponics and especially the micro solution turns my water a tea color and in turn dies my roots. Im sorry if you posted it and I missed it.
When I was using bleach, with much success, I used 8% bleach, 0.2ml per gallon of res water every 72 hours.
I’ve since bought like a pound of 99% Calcium Hypochlorite from amazon for less than $20, I grab an empty gallon jug and fill it with water and 1gram of the calcium hyochlorite, from there use 6ml per gallon of res water.
Can double up if you already have root issues, but I would not go past that really.
Edit:
I started using Canna Aqua nutes, then switched to House and Garden half way through the first grow. Used that for all my DWC stuff until recently. I’ve been experimenting with GH’s MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom without any issues. I’ve also done mega crop v2 1 part, and the new 2 part without issues, all while using bleach or calcium hypochlorite.
I’d recommend the calhypo over bleach, but I had much better luck with both than I ever did with poolshock.
Sweetness! Thanks for the info. I got you book marked.
Didn’t have a chance to take pics this morning. PNL2s and MWCB Had a nice explosion of growth after the last watering two days ago. Stems getting fat and i can see roots coming out of the solo cups so I’m going to try and up-pot all of them tonight.
My NL girl is finishing up, couple more weeks and she should be done. She definitely needs more potassium. I may try a maxibloom+dry koolbloom to finish her off instead of more amendments. I hope I don’t mess her up more. As-is I know I’m already sacrificing yield.
Yeah, my Purple NL2’s also seem pretty vigorous. Even though they were planted a week after everything else (December 7), they’re ready to be transplanted, too. But I’m gonna wait until January 1 to do it, just because that’s my schedule. I’ll probably start a log then and tag you if you wanna post your pics there, too.
Ran out of soil in the middle of up-potting so the rest will have to wait until tomorrow when I have more time.
Alright, on with the pics!!
MWCB
PNL2
Here’s the one with the wavy pattern
Here’s the super variegated one
Your PNL2’s kinda look like mine. I have one or two with those super-broad Indica-looking leaves and two with narrower leaves. All of them are growing quickly, though.
How do you transplant when they’re that little? I always wait until they’re pretty much root-bound. Doesn’t the dirt they’re in kinda crumble away or whatever?
Yeah I definitely could stand to wait another couple weeks before up-potting.
Basically, wait until the cup is starting to get light and then I push in all around the cup to loosen the plant/soil from the walls, then place my hand on top of the cup with the plant stem in between two fingers, usually index and middle, turn the whole thing over and push from the bottom of the solo while very carefully pulling the plant out by the stem between your fingers. Then just place in the new pot and add soil to fill in around it.
Got em all done, save for the left-up-front-one with the leaf whirl, without losing or disrupting anything. That left one I freaking dropped in my soil bucket and totally fucked up her root mass, expecting her to look pretty sad tomorrow
Okay, so basically the way everybody transplants haha! Just seems like it’d be a bitch without a decent root ball. Anyway, yeah. Let’s get these PNL2’s going. I’ll tag you when I start the thread. Two days.
Yup pretty much
It was definitely too soon for me but still, just had to be a tad more careful and it was fine
Sounds good on the thread, I’ll be ready.
