Yeah, NL supposedly had Thai in it. But I think that may have been just the NL5 and possibly the NL2, as well. I think the NL1 was some worked Afghani line, sans Thai. There’s pictures and descriptions on NL from the original seed catalogs floating around the internet, I’ll see if I can find them.

I won’t though, I’ll grow out all the girls and see what I get. Don’t wanna risk losing a NL2 pheno.
I’d think both the Big Sur and the NL2 contributed to the pain relief. Big Sur is renowned all its own, and we already know NL is medicinal ^^
Obviously we’re kinda in the dark on the NL lines but supposedly.
NL1 = Basically Afghani IBL
NL2 = NL1 x Hindu Kush
NL5 = NL1 x Hawaiian or Thai and then backcrossed if I remember correctly.
There’s a couple sites and stuff that mention thai in NL2 or NL in general, but I’m pretty positive everything I’ve ever read from Sam/Neville/Greg says no.

NL#1 = pure Afghani
NL#2 = according to Greg is Steve’s Steve’s Afghani x Afghani (biker cut)
Nevil’s NL#2 = NL#2 x Kush4
USNL#5 = Steve’s Afghani x Hawaiian
Nevil’s NL#5 = USNL#5 x ? Possibly NL#2
My theory: The creator of NL#2 (Don aka the indian) gave Nevil his NL#5 seeds, it’s possible that Don crossed a male NL#2 to the USNL#5 clone and gave Nevil those seeds.
Now Before I get dragged under the bus Nevil also believed his NL#5 contained NL#2.

See? That’s what I need to do. Take notes! That whole thing about NL was from memory, just from reading. And it wasn’t too far off. I dunno how I do it, because I can’t remember shit, ever. Seem to have some kind of weird savant-like ability to remember weed stuff, though.
Anyway, it’s not looking good on my Purple NL2’s. Two are definitely male, the other two are kind of undetermined. And when I say that, I mean they both are almost definitely male, too, but I’m trying to will them female. I’m transplanting tomorrow (been setting up a new tent and reconfiguring my grow room today), gonna make the final determination then.
I’m pretty pissed, it’s looking like a LOT of my plants turned out male this round. Outta those eighteen starts, I’m hoping my eyes are deceiving me and I end up with seven females. Damn you, nature!

So you think you’ll be down to one or two girls then out of the pnl2’s?
Mine are getting close to sexing but nothing’s showing yet. Hopefully any day now. They’re still noming the lower leaves, think I’m gonna have to start feeding soon which I’m not excited about. None of my other plants have done this and I’m pretty positive I mixed the soil per the instructions this time so… yeah

I do not think that I’m gonna end up with one or two girls. I’m thinking I’m not gonna end up with any girls. I JUST looked at them really closely, right before I logged on here, because I was moving tents around and had to take everything out of the veg tent, figured I should check them again (when I watered yesterday, I also took a look at them and was like,”Shit…”). It’s looking like they’re all males.
Like I’ve said many times, my eyesight’s really bad, so if I can see definitive male pre-flowers, they’re male. However, I’m gonna take a reeeeeallllyyyyy good look at them tomorrow during transplant, even better than today haha, maybe even bust out a magnifying glass or a loupe, just to be sure.
And I may flower them out for a couple weeks even if they are male. A few years back, I misjudged some plants and flowered out some males, saw it just a few days after flip and said,”Fuck it, let them flower for a while,” and they developed these crazy-beautiful purple male flowers. Really nice and tight structure, too. Shoulda taken pollen from them… There’s pictures of them in my The Fuzz grow log on thcfarmer, if you ever get bored and curious. They looked really good.

No fun having to wait another two months to get a girl.
Would most definitely save some pollen off the males though. I’m expecting to see at least one plant with some kind of purple in here for all the talk PU gets.

NL5HSS #5 - Day 82
We’re about done here. Going to give her this last day and chop tomorrow just before the lights come on. Amber’s are comin on quick and just about out of clears.

Smells like spicy/sweet hash… and occasionally a very subtle fruit smell buried in there.

I love the palette of colors! Are the hairs usually that orange? Mine have always been… pale. I do remember seeing darker orange hairs in blue dream, but not that dark. Beautiful!

Yeah these are definitely a nice burnt orange color, pretty standard imo. The Godberry I ran looked real similar in colors. Hoping for some pink or purple pistils in the PNL2’s but we’ll see.

Should definitely be some goodies in these for damn sure. I finished off my day 77 tester last night after 5 days of drying(sorry no pics) and I’m getting kind of a deer in the headlights for a bit after just one dynavap 
So I think potency is up there, would wager somewhere around 20-25%. Not the strongest I’ve had, not the tastiest, and definitely not the smelliest, but I am extremely happy with the effects(90s nostalgia), and in love with the overall structure of this strain in general. Brings me right back to good ol days of KB(Kind Bud) 
I don’t even have her dialed in yet, far from it. Would expect someone with better knowledge of their setup could really get some huge fat stinky buds out of these. My initial plan will be to do a couple backcrosses with this girl before running out some FGen’s, unless a girl speaks out at me. Same for the FLC. Will likely do the FLC first though. Need more cheese in my life

Yeah, I hope so, too. But these were replacement beans for the seeds I had started a week earlier that didn’t pop, so I dunno. I’ve still got two packs minus those four seeds, so… More to go through.
I guess this is the risk you run only popping like four seeds from every pack. I always figure Law of Averages, though. Meaning next time I plant some, I should get four females. But this time, I think there might be a ridiculous amount of males amongst all of them. Not just the PNL2’s, but of everything I planted. I think three of the Soars are male, too.
Where’s that cat hair, btw? Haha! You’d have to have ridiculously good eyes to look at those pictures you posted and be like,”Buds look good, I like the pisti- oh, wait, there’s a cat hair there!”

It’s why I just went with half the pack this round. Figure in 6 should get at least one girl, of course I have seen people pop a whole 11 pack from bodhi at once and get just one girl 
Maybe it’s something to do with lunar cycles Like we just had 20+ people get herms in the last month or so, out of nowhere. Including me.
That last bud pic is absolutely covered in cat hair, I couldn’t even see them when I was taking the pics. it wasn’t until I had them loaded in Lightroom zoomed in all the way that I was like f$%k! Gonna have to break out the tweezers Thankfully OG doesn’t zoom in super close so it doesn’t look as bad
