Homemade “Dr Zymes” Recipe?

I have been dealing with some russet mites lately. Haven’t seen them in years but this season they have swooped in. I am using Dr Zymes but at $150 a gallon I feel that there must be a similar recipe that can cost less. I have seen references that it is fermented citrus peels. So I assume what is needed is citrus peels, yeast, sugar, and water. Does anyone have any insight or suggestions? I’m looking for something that can be used in flower if necessary and is food grade.

@JohnnyPotseed has got a ‘one and done’ spray mixture published here.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure someone who did will pop up here too.
Read through it and see if you can get all the stuff needed.
If you got questions,I’m sure the community will help you out.

I use zero tolerance from Ed Rosenthal. He says u can spray it in flower too. But again, I never had to,since I spray them before flower. Best of luck!
Welcome to the forum btw :sunglasses::v:

Hi and welcome to Overgrow! The one-and-done @stiffy gave you the link to is all food grade and can be used all the way to just before harvest if needed. If you go check it out, you’ll see there are a LOT of folks use it now. It kills on contact, everything… eggs, larvae, adults. without leaving any residue. (you can wash the bud, if concerned) If you have a bad infestation I suggest a repeat every other day for a few treatments.

Dr. Zymes is just industrial enzymes…
You can use septic enzymes like Bio-Clean or Rid-X

Cheaper and easier will be:
Homemade Green Cleaner

1 gallon of RO water,
30 ml cold pressed neem oil,
30 ml Sal Suds and
36 ml 70% isopropyl alcohol

Here is a wealth of info… link is to the Biostimulants sub-page, with the enzyme suggestion, but if you go up a level or two, there is a whole lotta good stuff here:

Watch out when spraying your plants with what some people have posited as “safe”, despite industry warnings, heating some “safe” chemicals… like smoking them… can make those otherwise “safe” chemicals deadly. There is a difference between chemicals that are safe to eat or put on our skin, and those which are safe to smoke

Yep. Now I’m fogging every few weeks to make sure anything that tries to fuck with me DIES WITH ME FIRST.

That same $150 would buy all ya need for JP’s one and done recipe, with change left in your pocket.

You would then have stock for years… and it works well in all stages.
