Ahh yea Bad Taste is one of Peter Jacksons first movies. Unbelieveable for people who only know the lord of the rings

Awesome premiere story, @Pigeonman ! That’s definitely a Troma classic in our house. It would have been wild in theaters I’m sure.
We just caught the Rule of Jenny Pen last night. Lithgow and Rush starring. Very messed up picture of an elderly home. It’s a Shudder/IFC production, and we highly recommend it.
@Ibegeekdup - Trick r Treat rules! I love most all anthologies. V/H/S series and the Poughkeepsie Tapes stand out as good recent ones, but classics like Creepshow or Body Bags ? All great. We saw one recently out of Japan that included the short, Crevices and was a damn good collection over all. I’ll have to track down the generic ass title…

Anyone seen this one? My uncle always told me when I was a kid that it was his favorite horror movie. I finally found it a few years ago.
I watched this a few years ago and its truly scary and uses a lot of classic horror. I personally thought it was extremely well done. Had me on the etch of the couch.

I do enjoy the entire THE CONJURING series, being kind of fascinated by ghosts and ghost stories. Pretty well done set of movies.

Haha well I tried to sum it up under the picture. I only watched the first one. Low budget, but the clown is well played IMO. Story is cheap and nothing special. Very gory. Little scary, but more of a shocker slasher horror

I love the first and second. First one is not a good rewatch though. Third one disappointed me a lot as it didnt seem to advance the story much at all.
But watching first and second for the first time is a great experience. Cillian in the second was cool and great fit for the role.

Martyrs (2008)
Great french horror movie from 2008. “Religious torture cult movie” with a really exceptional mindfuck ending. Due to US americans refusal to watch anything dubbed, it was remade in 2015, but the remake is much worse and the ending was pretty much ruined.

So like “High Tension” what did you think? it will always hold a special place to me. I recommended it to someone at school once and after watching it he was just like “WTF was that. Whats wrong with you?”

Yep! I recall Martyrs when it came out. So much better than many of the 
“torture porn” movies that kept rolling out. (Hostel for example).
This was fucked but much like High Tension it was also smart and not just for shock value.
Another one that’s absolute trigger material is:
If you have seen it you know what I mean. If you haven’t be warned it’s got the most psychologically brutal rape sequence I have ever seen on film. Not because of explicitness, but they literally put the camera down on the floor and don’t cut… not even once. So it’s seriously fucked because in film editing it’s noted that subconsciously the audience will blink when there is a cut.
So if you do not cut you don’t often blink… so you are starting at the horror and it really sticks.
The film’s story is told backwards too, so you start with a serious WTF is going on and then you find out what happened and the bulk of the movie you’re nerve wrecked because it’s all a bunch of wonderful friends who are getting ready for a night out at the clubs… so you’re screaming “DON’T GO” in your head non stop until the credits roll.

Went to the cinema on that one, with out reading anything about it… didnt know it was a horror movie… nothing… just taged along a friend…
