I would run an exhaust so you can cycle fresh air in
One option if you need dehumidifier. The one I’m running from them is a discontinued model looks like, but it’s a hoss.
If you can afford the bigger models, could have an iron grip on this one factor
Best single change I’ve made to my setup.
Ill look into a beefier dehu. That ones no more expensive than the one i have
100% worth it!
I’m not in a position to do that anymore but when I was, it was a lot easier to control heat, smell and humidity during flower.
I used one of the 4". Looks like they have a 6" now too!
I have a weird casement window in the basement i hafta rig my own with foam board.
Ive gone through two summers now wifh ĺimited control of my rh. I vent right out the window and draw from the room. I use 1 ac in the window. All through flower im running in the 60s and bouncing near 70% at times. I dont over do it with fans either. I stir the whole 4x8 w 1 16" fan.
Two summers of this and ive not had any mold or pm issues at all. So, ive quit worring about it.
I pack in plants pretty tight as well with the floaters covering the entire canopy.
What temp are you keeping the tent at?
Only read the first post.
Unless you’re getting condensation, rh is not a problem.
That’s a good point. One could use dew point to control things
I have my exhaust and and intake both exhausted outside into my 4x4. I run a Vivosun 4 “ inline adjustable speed fan on both . Works out really well and keeps my plants healthy. I think it’s the only way in my basement sinario ![]()

Mine stays 78-80° 72 at nite. Trying to run cooler in flower this go.
Ive read the dryer you get it late flower the more they squeeze out resin.
That notion comes from certain genetics being allegedly prone to grey mold, which is almost entirely caused by nutrition.
Keeping rh low prevents spores from blooming etc.
There is a cutoff in temperature, around 86f, where plants switch from … i forget the words… photoperspiration (??) To imsryimtarded (??)
Has to do with the plants ability to transpire(sweat)… drastically impacting a plants natural processes.
Like standing in a shower hot box on mushrooms doing arithmetics. Not ideal.
I had the same issue. Venting out the window will help in the sense that you can crank your dehumidifier more and the heat will be vented, and also the humidity from the plants will be vented so the dehumidifier wont have to work as hard.
I made my own window vent out of a 1” piece of pine, some white paint, some silicone to seal it and a few duct parts and a jig saw. Took probably 15 minutes excluding dry times.
Ac foam is also nice to help seal the window duct. I can send you a pic when i get home
Whether you are running HID or LED will make an impact on where the plants are happy temp/rh wise.
Coming from HID, I had my room too cool when I switched.
I believe that if your room is properly ventilated you get far less of any pm . Just my experience
Sure helps.
First line of defense always will be nutrition.
I forget the exact quote and who its from but the saying goes a little like this:
Nature sends death and pests to finish off unhealthy plants.

I had a hard time managing temps in my tent in warmer months until I started ventilating outside, though I draw from the room. I’m in a pretty arid environment and high humidity is not an issue even with a swamp cooler, but sometimes it’s a little tricky if it’s cold enough outside (we get below freezing in winter), in which case I just shut the window and let it vent inside. In the summer I always vent outside. I never push temps above 80F anymore and the highest the RH gets inside the tent is 60% after watering.
