How in the heck do you flush inside a grow tent?

Clearly this is my first grow. To be honest, I have made so many missteps that I was sure my plants would die. But, they haven’t. In fact, my Green Crack and Yumbolt are making me pat myself on the back. They have produced a lot of large meaty, frosty nugs.

Okay…I am beaming with pride. But, back to my next challenge.

For most of the grow, I have focused on keep all of my ladies alive. Now that we are going into harvest, a new challenge arises. How do you flush from inside the tent? When they were younger, I could take them out and flush. But now, many of them are five feet tall with flowers that would snap if tried to move. Still, they need to be flushed.

I was thinking of buying a product to flush with. If I did, would I still need a flush with a ton of water? Have anyone experienced this before?

how long til harvest? what size pots? what are you feeding them? can the pots be removed from tent?

I am 25 days from harvest. My plants are in five gallon pots. I am using General Hydroponics Nuts. I can get some of the smaller plants out of the tents. But, the nugs are so heavy that I fear breaking them. The larger plants would surely snap if moved.

If I gave them nothing but water for two weeks, would this qualify as a flush?

It is hard to imagine what you need to do just by what you´re telling us. If you show us pics of the setup we might be able to help better. You would save a lot of explaining and people figure it out faster too… Cheers!

I just change my feeding amounts the last 2 weeks and don’t flush… I use GH 3 part… IMHO you don’t need to flush unless your getting feeding issues due to nutrient/salt build up due to improper feeding or poor plant drainage.

and yes… some pictures would help.

If they have gotten nothing but water the last two weeks, you should be good to go. I only think I’ve “flushed” a plant once or twice, it didn’t even help the issue at hand.

if he has 25 days to go and has been flushing plants for 2 weeks already… that’s where the problem is… I feed my plants every time I water which is every day at 8:00am.

Now that it is mentioned, pics would be nice. But I don’t have any, and feel uncomfortable posting “evidence” on the net.

Even though I am legal, I just can’t shake the feeling of doing something illegal by growing the plants in my home. The stigma of growing has me. I can’t take pics yet. Hopefully, as I get comfortable and the cops don’t raid me, I will post pics at a later date.

For right now. . . I give thanks for the suggestions given. What do you think about flushing with General Hydroponics’ cleaner, then watering with plain water until harvest? I clarify by stating I have’ not done anything yet. I wanted to run the question by the group before risking my harvest.

I absolutely agree.
Do not fret over flushing.

number 1 rule of growing is tell no one but us… your cautiousness is a good thing… your safe posting pics here though.

Hi @Cannarose.

Agree with a couple others about using only water last few weeks. Maybe feed for the next week only then go to strictly H2O until they finish. Probably the easiest route.

Otherwise, although laborious in its effect, get a hold of a few large grout sponges. Dip them in water then ring them out really well, set them around the base so they can absorb the run off. If you start with dry sponges though, they won’t absorb immediately, so the dunk/ring/repeat is needed.

You may be able to slip some thick plastic under them and build a reservoir/basin to catch the run-off. Use 2x2 or 2x4 boards on edge to make it deep enough to catch it all. Then sponge up the excess.

Cheers

yeah use the florakleen or whatever and just feed water, 25 days is lots of time. if you don’t have a huge nutrient build up the plants might get a fade

Get one of these if you ever do end up needing a flush in the future or to help catch run off

I don’t “flush”, but I use PH-checked water only for the last 14 days of flower.
Use a “final flush” type product if you’re worried about salt build-up. But don’t try to reuse the grow-media if you do. :put_litter_in_its_place:

A grow tent is a weird place to put your toilet

Thanks everyone for great suggestions. I was really worried about ruining my crop. CannaRose

Yeah right, the whole idea is to share your pics and all with us here. Good luck!

Please be careful of what you post online. I posted pictures on our site, and was shocked when I saw my pictures and a link to the site which told my story behind the pics and gave info from my bio to anyone who wanted to know it. Here is a link and notice that three of the pictures in the description are mine.

I was SHOCKED!! Since then, I have limited pictures of my grow.

wow, 3 of the first 4 pictures are mine! interesting!

i posted this in another thread, but it seems more appropriate here. i have my pots in plastic storage containers and I use a 20$ wet/dry vac to remove water. its called buckethead and attaches to any 5 gallon bucket. very convenient.
