This is an old method but maybe it will help some people out. Essentially you take and flower a clone to see it’s sex.
After popping some seed take a clone from your first topping. Dip that in rooting hormone and plant it in a cup full of soil. Bag or dome it. Put it next to an led house light on a 12/12 schedule inside a dark box. Keep barely alive for a few weeks.
That clone will start to show sex by around week 4 of veg. You can then cut any males before wasting time flowering them

i put my seedling in 12/12 for 2-3 days @ about 6-8” tall. i look for mini balls after that at the joint. seems effective. ball equals boy from my experience.
You can just keep a clone in water (Solo Cup) w/o starting to root it and put it into 12/12.

Not for just sexing. You can use a 1/4 strength transition mix if you’d like. Just change the water every day or so. It will root pretty quickly since it’s flowering. I just do my initial topping and don’t remove the lower branches so they grow outwards and give you a decent sized snip in a week or so. Plants reach sexual maturity in Veg as well that’s why it takes about 21 days from seed. The closer to maturity the faster it will display sex in my experience.
