Howard's run of Marauder by Baked Beanz

I know what you mean. I have missed ones like that because I couldn’t get close enough. Sorry for the loss.

It’s really a shame, because these plants smelled great. My whole house smells great right now from chopping the plants into bits in the living room, lol. I really liked them.

I still have some seeds left, and will absolutely be trying them again in the future. Just not soon, as I already have seed tester commitments that must be met first and this is an opportunity to get an earlier start on those.

In that case - ouch!! Im sure it really hurts to toss out such beauties.

Don’t you wish sometimes that you could bottle that smell and put it in spray can.

I quit smoking pot for about ten years starting in '98 when I had kids old enough to notice and started in a tech career, and I would have paid good money during that time for such a thing.

I still have some seeds, will give them another shot at some point. I have absolutely no doubt it would be great smoke based on what I’ve seen.

You are going to make me be all up on mine tomorrow with a magnifying glass. But I have also pollinated mine lightly which would alter the effect of growing nanners since it won’t have the need to pollinate itself. But sorry for time lost. Shove a clone right in that bit of light and keep it rolling

Is that pea gravel your using as a media or is it a bug barrier ? I really like that, is it hard to clean the roots out afterwards.

Sucks about the marauders.

Have a good one!

I’m using a thick layer of crushed pumice as a mulch layer to slow evaporation from the top and allow the roots to colonize all the way to the top of the coco.

When I need an insect barrier I have used Growstone Gnat Nix before with good results, but it’s really best with fabric pots that are bottom-fed because despite their claims it has a very high pH as a result of the manufacturing process and you don’t really want to pour water through it if you can help it, and fabric pots don’t have drainage holes in the bottom that allow fungus gnats or root aphids or whatever to find another way in.

The pumice is easy to clean and reuse. The insect barrier is less so, and unpleasant to work with, and a mask should be worn because it’s dusty as hell. Even so, it works better than any of the others I’ve tried.

I believe I’m not the only person to experience this issue. I will give it another try when I can. Until then, this site has provided me with an embarrassment of riches from which to choose, so I’ll move on to the next adventure

It was on the tip of my tongue.

I’ve noticed the root growth your talking of when I use rice hulls as mulch.

Sorry to interrupt. Grow on!

So far the only thing that have cause me a herm or 2 is changing the light schedule to drastically. And a couple times I used fresh steam bone meal it was like 4-19-2 and I didnt let it cook in the soil and it burned them until the plant harmed trying to repair it self. I’m not implying you did either just sharing some of the whoopsies I have done

Is this herming a thing with the Marauders? Seems like I’ve read this a few times now

Sux peoples are finding herms in this strain… its medicinal properties have been really great and was one of the few strains that broke the south african cheese hype down at the coast…(yep this countries cheese crazy… so much as people wont buy anyrhing but cheese… so guys call anything and everything cheese or they arent eating that month haha) but marauder is asked for by name now lol … so yeah really sux

I have had this tested by 2 testers one of them being Sunvalley.
Neither had problems with herms.
I don’t know where you read that @Meesh but would love to know and see it myself and learn from what those people say.
As Sunvalley said earlier in another thread anything with GG#4 in it has a possibility of herming as it has Thai strains in it and Thai strains are famous for herming.
Can never tell when it’s going to happen but that doesn’t mean that the strain is bad but that that plant is sensitive or… or something in the growing conditions. I’m not saying Howard grew them bad, as it was obvious that he was getting some very nice girls, but as they grew up they decided to go tranny for whatever reason.
I’m sorry but I know that strain is fire, as is GG#4 with all it’s problems.

Not for everyone, obviously. Happened to me and maybe one other person on OG whose name escapes my sleep-deprived brain at the moment, but I don’t think I’d be ready just yet to say it’s “a thing with the Marauders” at this point. That’s not many data points, and there could be many as-yet-unknown factors involved.

It is rumored to be somewhat more common with GG4 and crosses, and GG4 was originally produced by a hermie if my memory serves me correctly, but I’ve had pretty good luck so far so I’m not ready to say with confidence that’s the case here. I have a GG4 S1 that I’ve been running for about a year for instance that has never hermied while many others have had worse luck, so it’s absolutely not something that is so dominant in the gene pool that everyone will experience it.

I’m just documenting my experience and not ascribing anything in particular to the results I had, for whatever that’s worth. I still intend to try again with my remaining seeds when the time is right. Next time I might get some real fire, who knows?

I wont post pics on your page. I wanted to see some similarities. I know when theyre young they do not like wet feet.

I think you’re burnt tips are a sign your keeping them happy.
A lot of people might see this as nute burn.
I believe it’s a slight potassium deficiency on the right side of the line, id rather be just on this than just over the line.
Over fertilisation is far worse and creates problems I’d say you got em just where you want them you know you can tweak a little upwards
