Smoke Report – Chocolate Rain #2
Aroma
The aroma leans earthy at first, but when you break the buds open it turns sweet and fruity with a slightly herbal undertone. Not overpowering, but very pleasant.
Flavor
On the inhale, CR2 delivers a sweet cocoa/coffee-like flavor — smooth and tasty, without the sharp or bitter aftertaste I noticed in CR4. It stays consistently sweet all the way through, almost dessert-like, which makes it dangerously easy to keep smoking.
Effects
I tested CR2 in the morning, paired with coffee. The sweet taste was so good I ended up finishing the joint.
The high builds up slowly but steadily, striking a perfect balance between head and body. Mental uplift and body relaxation come on at the same time, leaving me in a very positive mood with a spark of creativity.
I used that wave to tackle some annoying emails I’d been putting off, and it felt effortless.
Then the munchies kicked in, so I went out to grab some food. Out in public, the body high wrapped me in a warm, soft feeling, but without being sedating or heavy. It was comfortable yet focused, and unlike CR4, I didn’t experience any “momentary dementia” or forgetfulness. My ADHD symptoms were actually calmer — I was able to stay focused and didn’t forget anything while shopping, which is rare for me.
Any Anxiety dissolved completely, replaced by calm positivity and the effect lasted for some hours.
Later at night, I woke up and I had another small smoke of CR2, and immediately that same warm, cozy hug set in again — sending me off into a deep and peaceful sleep.
Conclusion
CR2 is my clear favorite so far in terms of effect. While CR4 had a similar vibe, CR2 feels more balanced and refined. The sweet flavor is outstanding, the head and body high are perfectly aligned, and it’s an excellent daytime strain — ideal to pair with a morning coffee and start the day with focus and positivity.

Smoke Report – Chocolate Rain #7

Aroma 
CR7 was the pollinated plant. While she was growing, her aroma leaned strongly toward spicy notes. Once dried, however, the scent became much milder and almost neutral. What stood out most was her resin production — by far the stickiest of the bunch, with an almost oily texture. When breaking up the buds in the grinder, a surprisingly fruity note comes through.
Flavor
At first, I tried to sift through parts of the buds to avoid the seeds, but quickly realized it didn’t matter — the seeds were already out, and even the sugar leaves smoked beautifully. The flavor itself is outstanding: more intense, fruity, and berry-like than CR2, with a richness that makes every puff delicious.
Effects
All three phenos shared a somewhat similar effect, with CR2 already being very well-balanced. But CR7 takes it up another notch — it feels like a mix between CR2 and CR4. The high can get extremely strong if you overdo it, yet it still maintains a nice balance. The body is wrapped in a warm, comforting blanket of relaxation, while the head stays pleasantly elevated. I honestly didn’t expect her to hit this hard, especially since she carried seeds… but I was seriously mistaken.
Conclusion:
CR7 is without a doubt my winner. While CR2 offered a very similar, well-balanced high, CR7 manages to deliver the same effect with much less material — the potency is simply on another level. Compared to CR4, which leaned more toward an earthy and spicy aftertaste that isn’t really my thing, CR7 shines with its fruity sweetness and powerful yet balanced effect. All in all, she combines the best of both worlds, making her the standout pheno of the run.
I can only guess as a beginner, but the fact that CR7 was still the frostiest and most potent even while seeded makes me hopeful that she could be a really strong mother. If she’s this good under stress, maybe unseeded she’ll be even more impressive. I’m excited to see what comes from her seeds.
