Need some assistance please. I have a 4x8 tent with a trolmaster tent-x controller. I have a trolmaster 6" in-line EC motor fan on intake, trolmaster 8" EC motor exhaust fan, Trion humidifier, a 50 pint dehumidifier, portable A/C (6" vent to outside), multiple 6 and 9" vivosun oscillating fans (set to natural breeze), and a 1500w heater all connected and working in the controller. Temps are pretty accurate to my set-point and consistent. My humidity is all over the place though. I cant seem to get it dialed in. Deadband is at 2%. It reaches the set point but swings wildly over and under the set-point. Have to run my day time temps 80 degrees + to compensate for the high humidity. I set it at 76 degrees and 55% humidity and it swings 70%+ down to upper 40’s. The A/C and dehumidifier are on inside the tent on the same side. What do you all think? Appreciate the help. Its driving me crazy
I’d put those things outside the tent. The air is exchanged at such a rate the equipment can’t keep up. You’re best off setting up so the lung room is within range then any air pulled in has already been treated for want of a better word. Besides that you don’t want to pulling moisture from everything. Just the air. Now that might be bro science but I don’t want the moisture in the pots to end up in a dehumidifier. 2p’s worth is all.
That is a solution I have considered. My intake air comes from outside. Would I just run the AC in the room next to intake and intake from the inside rather than out? At this point, it is worth a shot, Thanks for your input. Its a good one, plus I can put more plants in the tent! lol
Blessings @cannaberry_for20 , after reading Ur 1st post I was going to say…“If Ur Equipment is working Properly then I would say It’s the Environment outside the tent”… But after learning that Ur intake is from Outside I almost Guarantee the Wild Fluxes are Due to Nature… I’d Put the Equipment outside the Tent to Best Utilize Sq. Footage & Avoid Heat issues (in my grow space)…Keeping Those Items in Ur Tent may Cause them to Work Harder but, if they are Working they should (will) Keep everything in Check…Unless these changes to the Environment happen so Quickly & Vastly that they can’t Keep Up…Sounds like Nature…In take from Inside & open a window(s) **Edit(if need be), keep an eye on Ur Readings,Take notes & U’ll Master it…Knowing the Approximate Environment of Ur Tent, Based on What Windows U Opened, How long they were Open & The Environment Outside…Hope it makes Sense
…I’m Off today & well Medicated…

*Edit Just my Opinion Based off some of my Experiencesđź’Ş
control the environ in the lung room, then the tent. agree with the group here big time.
side note, some people vent the tent directly to outside. you use thr same setup as portable AC venting outside a window woth the little add on portal deal.
Houses are full of fresh air unless it’s a sealed box like the tin pot shit they’ve started building in Britain. The air in your gaff will most likely be warm and have plentiful CO2. I’d say extracting outside is the crucial bit. A steady indoor environment will be much easier to control than changeable outdoor conditions ![]()
Blessings @logangrowgan2020 … Outta Likes…Lung Room…Is that the Environment outside the tent or the Environment the Tent Breaths from…
ie. The Tents Intake was from Outside… Would that make Outside his Lung Room ?
I’ve never heard the Term before & wanted to get it Straight B4 I throw it in to my Verbage ![]()

Lung Room, to my understanding, is the room the tent sits in.
If a tent is in a garage, the garage is the lung room. If the tent is in a bedroom, the bedroom is the lung room. etc.
Thank you all for your input. I am going to start with disconnecting the intake from outside air. I will leave the exhaust from the tent and A/C as is to the outside. If that does not do it, I will connect the intake duct pipe to the AC and draw air in from the room. I could also move the AC outside the tent but keep the AC intake duct drawing from the tent. The AC will cool the room, and the tent intake will draw the cool air in. The Trolmaster Tent-X controls everything. I will leave the dehumidifier in the tent. I dont think having a portable AC and dehum side by side inside the tent is good. The AC blows cold air and the dehum produces warm air, which may produce humidity. Combined with outdoor air…equals wild humidity swings. Thats my theory anyway. We will see soon enough. Thanks again all!
Got U Bruv…I’ve been Learning alot of new things Today but Using the Term Lung Room makes me feel Cool & Hip ![]()
Salute Bruv @cannaberry_for20 . The Hot air , Cold Air creating Condensation /Humidity is a Plausible Theory ![]()

…I Think taking the steps U Mentioned should get U dialed back in Family…IMO…Keep On Keeping On, U got this:muscle:![]()

Took out the AC and changed tent intake from outside to inside. Ran a new 6" duct from A/C intake to the tent. Dramatic change. Data log will tell the tale in the morning but looks like a winner so far.
