the beds are starting to fade … my temps have been high the whole time like 88f to 92f and phed undrinkable LA hood tap water, but my weed is usually damn flavorful, the less i do the better i do
i was thinking, once i select what plants to re-run, i’m thinking about running the moms straight up, then take clones (for new moms) later… they have that thick stem and rootball they’ll explode and yield (right?) but this one in so damn tall, i could plant it sideways? burry the stem like 1 foot in the ground? i don’t want to take clones and wait all this time for 'em to have good roots and all when i have plants ready to go
If you do that, odds are good that you’ll get stem rot. I wouldn’t do that, anyway. Why not just bend the fuck outta her?
Plants are looking good. You might wanna chop everything in the next few days if it’s been hot in the grow room already. Supposed to get even hotter by this weekend. And really, what difference does a couple days make?
the stem is like 100% wood, but i could bend it for sure just not a lot, and plant it sideways because my damn ceiling is 6ft short, and also it might not be a keeper
it’s been hot in there the whole time, it’s always hot in there, unless i hook up the intake to the AC directly, i’m doing that for the 2 weeks of drying but it’s a pain so i just grow in the heat, i have the AC turned on but it’s not blowing inside the room directly, it’s just hot and whatever plant produce good weed in the heat wins!

Yeah, I mean, I guess you could let them go another couple days, but again, it’s supposed to get like ten degrees hotter, everywhere, starting tomorrow. It’s hot as fuck out here right now. I think I saw on the news yesterday that even downtown is supposed to get up to like 90 or 91 by Saturday. Just chop ‘em. How much better will they get by Sunday? Haha! I mean, I dunno, maybe two extra days makes that much of a difference, I’m no expert haha.
haha not that you say it like that… i know it’s ok to bury it a couple inches, roots will eventually come out the part you bury i think, but not a foot deep of living soil

it’s those big ass guerilla fume they are just so big to get a early chop, i’d have a lot of premature weight… and yeah i have to dry in my flower room so everything goes the same day
I’ve read that you don’t wanna be burying meristems even a few inches beyond the main root ball or whatever once the plants are older than about 45 days. Never tried it myself, so I dunno, but that’s what I’ve read. I think the theory behind that is that by the time the plants are that old (and yours are way older) they kind of quit even trying to produce roots. Or at least not from a section of the plant that wasn’t growing roots before.
It makes sense to me, but I dunno. Try it! Let’s see what happens! Haha.
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Are you at your spot right now? I’d do it ASAP. Probably get them to finish up quicker, too, kinda like shortening the “day cycle” or whatever, decreasing the amount of light they get. You might maybe wanna do both, actually, shorten the lights-on and turn the lights down.
@minitiger so this is the guerilla fume i really want to finish cause… it’s huge and it smells realllyy good, i really want to see the finished product of that one, i’d love to keep it, it’s day 66 today i can not harvest… dosen’t look close, i don’t see a lot of finished plant maybe 1/4 looks finished with some ambers
I agree, she looks like she has at least two weeks left to go. That Sour Diesel bx4 looks like she has a little ways left to go, too. Maybe not quite as long as the Fume, but she’s definitely not done yet.
I mean, I dunno, at what point do you decide, like,”I’m gonna let these plants finish at the expense of letting plants that’re for sure finished already suffer,”? If you had a separate drying area, then of course, let the Sour Diesel and the Fume finish properly. But since you dry in your grow area… I dunno. You really don’t have anywhere else at all to dry those other plants? There’s gotta be somewhere haha.
Or, I mean, just let everything ride and plan on some of the stuff that’s done now, like that Lime Jaro (which looks spectacular, btw haha) smoking a little heavier than if you chopped it now. I guess it’s a matter of priorities. Do you want some properly-finished Sour Diesel and that one Fume and some overly-ripe Lime Jaro or would you rather have some properly-finished Lime Jaro and some early Sour Diesel etc?

i’m pheno hunting for plant to run from clones to be all harvested on the same day… so like if i push plants longer and some early, that’s whats gonna happen when i rerun the clones anyways, so i’m cool with doing that, it just depends on how it smokes, the lime 1 jaro looks ready and probably is, but also could go longer i don’t see any ambers even in the very tops… of any plants really, so i’m not stressing about pushing 'em later, and i’ll take that into consideration when i’m smoking and selecting the cured weed too. the sour diesel pack says “70 days” and that’s next tuesday
my only other way of drying weed right now is in my house in the heat… it’s fine i guess but that’s not what i’m gonna do in “production” mode so that would give me a skewed representation of the different plants
so far i think i’m keeping guerilla fume #3, lime 1 jaro #4, forbidden fruit #7, i80 #8, sour diesel #4 and maybe meow #3, based on live plant smells yield and structure which don’t mean shit lol last time i did my selection before smoking i re-ran some shitty plants, so i probably won’t keep any of the ones i just said haha

No, clones flower quicker, usually a week or two shorter than the seed plants.

i’ve been cutting branches off some plants, i make up a reason in my head but its cause im impatient, i’m smoking some day 63 guerilla fume thats barely dry, it taste like pure OG, kinda like the lime 1 jaro actually, its like the smell on the plant: perfumey tree car freshener gas OG, and i’m very high haha i can’t wait for some finished cured nugetts, it’s probably a silverback og leaner plant, it’s so amazing, this grow is a huge step up based on the early samples ive been smoking
thats the only guerilla fume that has that obvious OG smell and also, the biggest more undeveloped one
edit: i should add, long lasting lingering flavor just like the lime 1 jaro
