Hey everybody weird place to start a grow log but I have two Kona Gold IBL boys right now. I’m excited to harvest pollen from them and hopefully get a clean reproduction out of one of the girls that my friend’s holding in his tent. The other boy in the back is Bruce Banner x Hulk Smash, I’ll be bagging and harvesting his pollen
They’re enjoying the rain and some light breeze, I think they’ll make good pollen providers for the gal once she’s here. I was hoping they’d line up better but she’ll only be going into flower Friday when I pick her up so I’ll have to collect and store.
I brought the girl home today, she’s a short plant, well topped and with tons of branches. I’m excited to see her stretch and I hope I can keep these boys alive to pollinate au naturel but I’ll settle for brushed on if I need too.
I would love to see how they both compare to each other! These have been in state and survived through Green Harvest, they’ve been growing out in Waianae from the “F5-F8” generation and I’ll be making an F9 of this selection from the original line. I guess it’s more like Waianae Gold now days.
For these plants, nothing so far, I have them in roots organics green fields soil and have been supplementing foliar silica and I know that the top dress I use has insect chitin, volcanic rock dust, and neem cake powder so that definitely does a small bit of IPM itself. I’d love to send some of these seeds to you brother, if you cross it into your GDP it could lend some nice resilience but I couldn’t say if it would be what you’re looking for medicinally.
I’ll take that luck, I could use as much as possible. These are kind of a special line of KG and thankfully I have an actual girl in reserve that I was hoping to have fully for flower yield. I’m going to try and get my hand on a few clones to hit with pollen too but I don’t have much finances to throw at it. No matter what, I’ll end up with KG IBL pollen and could make some crosses.
