Long story short , was gifted a dusty baggy of 3 seeds labeled 1996 RKS, fast forward , I planted all 3 , 1 dud, 1 female , 1 male , was able to repopulate them , super high male ratio , have tested about 350 of these and have only had about 48 females , I decided to pull them back out & hunt some more , with a better light , lower nutrients & less PPFD in flower , and looking to be a lot more stable & the smells coming off them are super nice , Not Roadkill ish , but super skunky , skunk terps - some have a loud garlic onion back nose with it , but def loud skunk terps , stuff I hadn’t smelled or smoked since the early 2000’s -
Once I finish this round of these 9 females I had gotten from a diff batch - planted 45 of them & got 9 females , but the 9 females are looking super nice and promising - only one seems to stack and look like the mom I had used , but what the male has brought or the female was hiding , is super nice and special, can’t wait to work these out some more
Plan to take the best 2 from this hunt of them & make fems, once I make fems & hunt the keeper from them, I’ll make a Bx1 from the R2’s & make a project with it to release for charity

Nice, I bet that is going to be hella good smoke. I am working with Hindu Skunk on my next grow. Anyone else ever pair beer with weed? I bet that strain of yours would pair well with Pilsner Urquell, it has a nice skunkiness to it.

Very interesting project. Worthy of an attempt to get the skunk back. No one has seemed to truly accomplish this feat with regularity. Several are said to hit a true skuny version but fail to reproduce with offspring. I would so love to put a True Skunk back in my mouth. Ill be watching….and hoping. May the Ganja Gods look over your project.

I believe skunk is a worked pheno from 79 or older seeds “Skunk Spray”. From what i know the 79 seeds are the ones you want to work for the true skunk. Sam breed skunk out of skunk and would occasionally mention it on pobcast. I do believe clones of it and G13 still exist somewhere in personal collections.

Definitely seem stronger with lower ppfd , and more stable , the previous batches I tried to run like normal fully hermed out before day 17 it was crazy , these made it to atleast week 6 , so I think low and slow has helped them some
These don’t smell like a dead skunk , or Skunk the animal, but they do smell like skunk weed / skunk terps - old skunk terps , more pungent and in your face , no fruit at all, going to share a few samples when I harvest with a few breeder friends / old heads , and see if they have any memories or can think of what it is , or is close too, or if it’s just regular skunk , definitely no roadkill, but definitely some funky notes , ones like a stink bug mothball , another one is garlic onion ish
The Skunk from the 2000’s ruined me. I think it had developed into Super Skunk at that time and I’ve procured a few seeds from Sensi Seeds with no luck so far on the first bean. Nirvana showed stock of the Super Skunk as well, I will try those next time.
It is amazing to see seeds from that long ago to still be viable. This is going to be very interesting to watch as you progress.
