Grow Update: Auto and 22 seeds

Here we are still no sprouts. I will be moving them to the 2x4 this evening so I can drop the lights on top of them and let the autos keep cooking. This is the time pollen could be added to two of the autos correct?

Evening update. At the 48 hour mark this is how we stand with the seedlings. 3/5 bogbubble, 4/5 skunk #1, 3/5 godfather og, 1/5 animal mints, 1/1 beat meat, 0/1 unicorn island, that 12/22 so far.

So say all 22 sprout do you plan on keeping all 22?

Well, 20 of them are regular, 2 are feminized. I plan to keep all the females and maybe one male depending on what strain gives me a male.

I might would wait a couple more days for more pistils to show unless you plan to pollinate it twice. Depends on how many seeds you want to

Oh you got the room then lol I need to get myself another setup going soon too gonna venture away from fems and I’ll deff need somewhere for the males lol

Morning update: 4/5 bog, 4/5 skunk, 3/5 animal, 4/5 godfather, 1/1 beat meat, 0/1 unicorn. 16/22. Autos are looking good. When should I defoliate? There will be a count update as to which ones have popped. I’m not sure if the other two animal mints will pop as the seeds didn’t give me taproots when germinated. I will say that 1 bogbubble has the membrane still stuck on it. Hopefully it works it self out.

Are you dead-set on defoliating?

I wouldnt think those needed to be touched tbh

Now if it looked like this, then yah i would lol

@ClandestinLEE I’m dead set on nothing. I’ve never ran autos. This was just a goofing off cause I was waiting on my other two girls to finish. So I’m at the mercy of you OGers to guide me.

Haha true. Well, i personally wouldnt defoliate those, but I would LITFA on autos anyway

You wont be able to tell if you get a better yield from them or even better quality becuase you have no standard to compare.

Whereas, the defoliating with finicky autos could potentially really harm the grow, in quality, weight, or even to finish the plant.

So in my mind, the negative potential outweighs the positive

Just my .02 homie

So, my game plan is to only to take off leaves to expose bud sites. No heavy defoliation.

Same difference in my mind.

Just tuck them down is the usual advice, or get side lighting.

When you say tuck them down what do you mean?

Just like bend the leaf blocking a site under the site or even take a soft tie or clip and fold them down to the main stem if you are feeling adventurous

Like the green floral wire I used to tie it up? Okie dokie. I will give that a go n

I’m a big fan of LITFA. That said I don’t think I have noticed a real difference in tucking vs removing offending fan leaves. Dealers choice right? This grow I have plants that the only defoliation they got was when I knock a dead yellow fan off. Other than that they’re natural with couple leaves bent out of the way.

Edit to say I think I have way less lower larf than in past grows, but I think that is the difference between topping and training out vs no topping. I am going to hypothesize it here I think going with one main builds better flowers at the expense of quantity of flowers.

When theres a membrane left on the sprout, i use a blade . I put my finger tip on the opposite side and slip the razor blade tip between the leaves. If im careful it slices it open and the cotyledons open up in an hour or so.

@Hashpants it came off on its own.
