Ibegeekdup’s Adventure

So everything but the rooting soil. And like a lizard heating pad?

Yeah, that’s good. I’ve seen heating pads that have an adjustable temperature, but I just have a Vivosun seedling mat that I put a towel on top of

Alright then I’m ready to rock and roll. I watched some videos on YouTube. Just hope it works.

This is the list of items I plan to get for my clones. I don’t want to ruin them. Is the stuff on this list good. Fingers crossed cause it will be here today.

Looks good to me. I don’t know anything about rockwool, but I’ve seen plenty of people use it successfully

I said fuck it and got rockwool and root riot cubes. It comes with a light strip so I’m hoping it works and I don’t have to invest in another light just for cloning.

I always had a problem with too much light. Now I have a piece of cardboard hung under my light lol. I’ve seen plenty of people do it with a 9 watt LED bulb

I have found the Luxx Clone LEDs to be perfect for cloning, but sadly Monsanto/Hawthorne bought Luxx and immediately killed off the entire line, because they already have Gavita. Unpopular opinion, Gavita is very average, while Luxx was exceptional. Their 80R and 90R veg lights are in a class of their own.

It got 10 different levels figured running it on 2/3 maybe 5 to start with is something. All I know is that I’m tempted to take a cutting from one of these big girls in flower and play with it and see if it roots.

Just cut a couple lowers with the smallest flowers and give it a whirl.

The Root Riot plugs have been easier than rockwool for me personally. You should check the temp if you’re using a heat mat without a thermostat as it can quickly cook your cuts if you don’t use a towel or t shirt on top of it like @Jim mentioned.
You can put the cut in a solo cup with a damp paper towel in the bottom for moisture and a ziploc bag over top acting like the dome on that tray you bought if you just want to try a few at a time. Place the cup on the floor of the tent out of the direct light and put something under it to keep it off the cold floor. Should see roots in 10-14 days usually. This is what it looks like assembled.

The arrow shows the folded up paper towel that you get good and damp before placing. It’s a cheap and easy way especially if you’re just taking a couple at a time.

This is the round I just finished.

So, will be adding a 4x4 tent to the set up tomorrow. Moving my 4 big girls into the 4x4 and setting up the test for the clones. I’ll have my 2x4. Should I go on a pop a couple extra beans or do I wait for the ones to pop. I want to do a seed run. I also want to pop new beans. I’ll post photos tomorrow.

@FirstCavApache64 I will keep all of this in mind. I got a heat mat with a digital thermometer on it so hopefully that will help me with it. I plan to run a test cloning on some plants that are in flower already. Do you think it would still work with the paper towel minus the baggie since I have the dome? Also it has a light attached do the dome I’ll post pictures tomorrow once I set it up.

If you have the dome and tray you just keep a little water in the bottom of the tray just below the bottom of the plugs and use the vents to control the humidity. The towel serves the same purpose as the water in the tray if you use a cup. You don’t need much light at all, i have mine 5 feet under my led getting very low light levels. When I have clones outside the tent I use a T5 fluorescent light several feet above the tray. My logic is I want the clone focusing on growing roots and keeping the light low slows the vegetative growth.

You’re probably going to be be surprised at how big that 4x4 is. I’m always a fan of pop more seeds lol

I fucking hope so pick up time is in an hour. I’m trying to figure out how to put together this fucking cloning set at the moment. Instruction for the stoned would be nice.
