We gotta Slow U down @Gpaw
Chattery teeth n jumpy nuggets had me laughin.
I don’t worry much about the days on autos either like @Jim said I use veg nutes until preflowers start then do half veg half bloom nutes for a few more feedings then just bloom until it starts to look like she’s about done then just water last couple weeks. You should be able to tell when they are about done. Your Grimm plants look good. I see you are in VA. I’m in NC right by the VA line. Happy growing
I appreciate that. I’m maybe 2 hours away from Greensboro. Fucking boys in blue down there in NC caught me doing 120 on the interstate back in 17 took my license over it. Right after you pass the turn for Eden. Thanks on the BG photos. I haven’t grown a bad thing by him. Even his plants that herm wouldn’t herm for me and I wanted the seeds. I have never touched an auto because well let’s be honest I make a lot of oppsies and autos don’t like that. If you’re growing in soil you got any cheap shops that ways. The local shop here has a monopoly on the area.
@Gpaw if they wasn’t free and I wasn’t waiting on three big plants to be done I might not have even popped them. Only 3 of the 4 sprouted and it’s taking everything in me to not act like a feral child and dig the bean up to see what’s going on with it.
I’m about 3 hours north of Greensboro. Small world.
Oh, you probably go through my town to get to yours. It is a small world.
I mix my own. Start with something cheap like the promix bale from Walmart add perlite some dry amendments a couple buckets from the creek in the woods by my house get a few more buckets of silt from the lake compost that I make some ew castings maybe a coco bale mix it up let it cook for awhile it works pretty good. I have bought coast of maine from an ace hardware in Clarksville VA pretty cheap. They had a couple different ones for around 15 bucks a bag. I ordered online an picked it up in store. Auto’s are cool I like to grow a few in my veg tent they finish fast and are good for some variety. I usually get around 3 oz off of them my best have been around 6 oz. Some folks get huge yields I haven’t got there yet.
@plantaddict what size do you put your autos in? I have mine in 3g pots. I gave up counting days going to wait for pre flower. Can I top these girls. I plan to have them in my veg tent the whole grow. I only popped them cause I’m impatiently waiting to chop the big girls upstairs. My dry tent in filled still cause I’ve been to sick to trim and jar. Any tips or tricks to keep the plant from over drying?
I do have extra totes and what not I thought about tossing the whole plant in the tote til I felt better.
Auto update. 2 of the 3 are touching my homemade dome. Is that gonna be okay or time to take it off?
One way to avoid the dome is remove it right before the cotyledons open up. Just when it breaks ground. It wont shock then.
So can I just poke some holes in this cup to help it adjust cause she about to lose the dome today.
Heck yes , domes on seedlings can cause mold and damping off. Once you leave it on , you have to wean the seedling off it like youre saying. Take it off before they open up.
I’ve read several times you shouldn’t top autos. I think if you are going to you definitely want to wait till they start flowering first or the stress will trigger flowering.
@Hashpants dome is off. I want to drop the bogbubble I just know I don’t have the space for it yet. Patience is hurting my heart.
@Gadarien alright so wait for the bud sites to start. Ugh these bitches might end up outside.
I used 5g and dropped down to 3g and didn’t notice a difference in yield so now I am trying 2g tall pots. They are like 16 or 18 inches tall but only 6 inches wide. Some say auto’s start preflowers when the root hits the bottom of the pot. I am hoping that the taller pot will extend the veg a few days and the skinny pot will let me crame a few more plants in the tent. You can top I prefer to do it early. I top at 4th node if I’m gonna do it. I mix it up if I’m running the same strain I might top 1 an leave 1 alone to see how they differ.
