Joints would be my first choice too, but for my lungs. I just can’t take the paper any longer. Full disclosure, I’ve never used a filter of any kind, but some of that paper taste would, no pun intended, certainly filter through.
I think the thing I miss most about smoking a joint is the passing of it, the social part of smoking with others. Everyone’s sucking on the same joint with the same weed. I miss that part a lot, even though I do smoke alone primarily these days.
