(BT x CW bx) Day 8 Flower
So all plants were showing sex. I’ve ended up with 4 females and 5 males. I pulled each plant out today and had a look at them all individually including the males. I ended up keep two of the males so far. I’m going to let the two cruise for a bit longer before I decide to keep one.
I will say I think this cross man be meant for bigger containers. Upon inspection of the roots I think I should have went with my gut and went 3g bare minimum instead of my 2g containers. Seeing how vigorous the root systems are they probably would be great for outdoor and big container grows. It honestly could have been my struggles this entire time but the jury is still out on that since I’ve ran similar cultivars in these small containers before.

The females I have currently are all quite different but only one really stands out smell wise so far with a serious menthol singe to my nostrils. Still early to tell I guess time will tell. Here is a quick little shot from each of them. I have definitely been struggling trying to find a happy medium for these plants. Wish like hell I could dial them in.

I will keep things the same but I think I may try to up pot the runt into a 3g just to experiment and see if the plant takes off and overall health improves. Maybe my whole issues has been smaller containers? Been double checking and triple checking PH. Have tried dry backs and have tried high frequency watering. I’m still scratching my head but I do foresee making it to the finish line.

So generally in flower I like to sit between 6.0 and 6.3 Typically in veg I just pin it at the high end of Athenas reccomendation which calls for 5.5 to 5.8… That’s what I’ve followed with Athena since I started using them at the beginning of last year.
Yeah I do love testing especially when I have a good handle on the cultivar lol …awesome roots indeed I was even surprised how great they looked considering overall plant health has been meh for me.

I run GH nutes in sunshine 4 and run a PH input of 6.6 to 6.8
I just had a major PH pen malfunction last week and I think I inputted around 6. 3 ish and my plants all let me know they weren’t happy right away. I notice that things happen much faster under LED lights when it comes to deficiencies. I had some yellowing, some necrotic spots and new growth coming fast but paler than normal. I just transplanted those plants and nice white healthy roots depsite what I was seeing above the soil. They are back on the 6.8 and are looking better already. I’m not familiar with the athena line. What are you growing in for media?
seeing everyone’s plants is making me itch to pop the beans @stanknugzz77 sent up. Few more weeks and they go for a soak

That PH you’re running seems high damn near neutral. but if your plants are digging it then there is certainly something going right there lol Is that GH’s recommended PH?

ahh ya you need the lower PH for coco so no adjustment needed there.
I was taught to PH inputs in sunshine mix4 to 6.8 back when I was first learning and it has worked well for me for most strains. In the pot the soils settles out to 6.5 and drifts down to 6.2 between waterings.
