Illegal Chinese Grow

Anyone else catch this? We all grow, but look at the scale of THIS grow.
DAAYUUM!

And they’re worried about whether I have 3 plants in flower, or 4?
Wtf.

I can only imagine the poisons they’re putting on that shit. Hopefully this kind of stuff will slow way down.

Ive been saying for over a decade now that criminal syndicates are most likely adding other drugs/chemicals to the water that they give to cannabis plants.

Cannabis is a bio-accumulator, and we as home growers focus largely on flushing before harvest.
But what if you couldn’t “flush out” some chemicals now matter what. Shit like meth and fetynal, and possibly many more. All water soluble btw…

I dont buy weed for personal use… EVER! And i sure as hell ain’t gonna buy it to sell. If i didnt grow it, it aint herb in my book. Look at what they did with that K2 and spice. Who knows wtf was in that shit. And all these bullshit carts being flavored with botanical oils and loaded with pesticides and heavy metals. Such a disgrace!

Here in Maine, home to some 200+ Chinese illegal grows, they made a discovery about 6mos ago. They went to bust an address, but when they went in, there were no plants. They interviewed neighbors, “Do you see traffic here?..Oh yes, 4-5 vehicles every night, between midnight and 4amish.”…so hmmm. Why all the comings and goings if there’s no weed?
In the kitchen there were a bunch of containers in all of the cupboards, all with Chinese labels. One of the agents decided to try out Google Translate on his phone.
Turned out the cartons contained chemicals that were so toxic, they’re usage is even banned in CHINA. So that’s pretty bad.
They had massive amounts of chemicals they were using as insecticides, etc, that are totally banned.
The reporter covering the story wanted to know if any of this weed was somehow entering the legal market here in Maine. Everyone said no, because rec weed is all tested. So they went to the labs to ask about this. There are 3 of them. They all use the same equipment. When asked about these chemicals, they said “Oh…we would never know. Our equipment doesn’t even test for those chemicals. They’re illegal to use, so we don’t test for anything like that.”
So yeah, to @Woedae420 's point, all that shit is in the weed, and it’s also dumped into the groundwater, rivers, lakes and streams, eventually the ocean.
Other people in Maine said that all of the Chinese weed went out of state…and I think that’s total bullshit.

The grow shops I visit up here in Maine have signage in English and Chinese characters. I used to see 中国人 every time I went in to shop, but after these grows started getting attention they mostly have things delivered.

That’s Wild
The USA is not doing anything to protect consumers of cannabis. You gotta grow your own

Sad thing is people been joking about weed being from china for decades. I wouldn’t be shocked one bit if the legal market is full of it too.Seems like all it matters is 28%+ thc for places to sell it. If only more people were more educated and supported growers/growing rather than buying cheap trash.

I’ve spent most of my career as an executive recruiter in the analytical instrumentation industry. My clients make the equipment and software used in testing labs (also R&D, forensic, etc.), and the instruments include chromatography equipment (HPLC, GC, IC, etc.) and mass spec equipment. I could go on, but the point is, these instruments don’t operate on a “test for everything” method because different samples requirement different prep and instruments.

I know that it seems crazy that technology has advanced so far, but they actually need some idea of what they might be testing for in order to conduct a successful test. And, of course, it has to be scientifically accepted and pass the “Daubert standard (or test)” before it could be admissible in court.

I live in NM, and have a friend with a licensed grow in Estancia. Its batshit that the illegal grow went on for so long. Now the corpo canna clowns are using it as their latest justification for “OMG sHuT Down lIceNsGinG NoW!!11!!”
Measure going through legislature right now to give the CCD police powers basically. The laws were written with no enforcement mechanisms… DOH!

I was talking with a friend the other day that runs a couple of dispos (I used to grow for them). He was talking about how business has drastically slowed for the past two or three years (we’re in the SW US). There are many factors to consider, but generally the weed market is in a race to the bottom.
Venture capitalists with very deep pockets trying to grab and hold market share, Cali over-grows moving excess to other states, etc.
it used to be blamed on Mexican cartels, now it’s the Chinese - all an attempt to blame “others.”
Basically this hot mess is created by, and falls onto, an uninformed consumer that just wants cheap vapes no matter what the long-term costs.
Bottom line - it ain’t the “Chinese” bro

All the Chinese grows I have seen busted in maine had ties to NYC.

That’s west coast, Maine and Oklahoma :disappointed:
And Michigan

I beg to differ the dea has confiscated over 100.000 plants from illegal Chinese grows in the last yr here in maine thats just the tip of the iceberg.
