I’ve kept seeing windowsill grows supplemented with led lights. Good yields, too
Some people say there’s no use to use led lights and sunlight because the plant has to adapt, but I’ve seen this one grow where the plant grew to monster proportions.
I get around 5 hours of sunlight on my window, the only problem is pests and change of light
Can I treat them as outdoor plants, where they don’t really care about pests , and can I leave them an additional 3 hours under lights ?
Is this possible?
Autoflower or photo bc as you know photos need at least 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness to flower. Pest question kind of depends upon your area and environment…got any photos?
I live in a big city,in between 2 buildings, my plan is to leave the plants behind adimmedwindow with the other window open, covered only by a mosquito net. No photos yet
Yes, this is about photo plants, I want to cover them after the 12 hours of sun/led. This is illegal here, but I only grow micro, I`ll have the outside of the window plastered with greens. There will be ventilation in the ledpowered /dark period box.
My question is , is it feasable to combine led/sunlight in this kind of way ? Will I get greenhouse pests ? I’ve seen this one guy who maybe was very lucky
I think having a mosquito net is good thinking along with the micro greens but keep in mind the plants will def start to smell as they mature. Combining multiple forms of light is usually fine just make sure when ready to flower it’s nice and dark without street light or residuals.
No reason you can’t.
I have translucent window film they use for bathrooms and it lets in lots of light but completely hides what’s behind it.
Smell may or may not be an issue.
translucent window film is my go to too*. The smell is not really a problem, the whole floor smells like weed Also, I will have micro (as in 330ml-max 1L) plants. And I only have 5 seeds for now.
Well good luck man what strain or breeder or just bagseeds?
Unfortunately only GOOD bagseed for now. I want to buy cbd:thc 1:1 in the near future, the high thc strains are not for me, took me a lot of time to understand that ![]()
I could only take 2 puffs at work, and an hourly 2xpuff with beer before sleep. I haven’t smoked in 6 months, and haven’t drank in 4… let’s see how this plays out
corrections for/to my english are appreciated
haven’t/hadn’t ( had a smoke > didn’t have a smoke?
things like this
thanks
haven`t sounds plausible
Your English is great, no worries… ![]()
Yes you can supplement sunlight with LED lights for window plants, we have been doing it for 4~5 years now.
Cheers
G
Thanks man
My nagging thought is this: many people get bugs (I did too in the past without ventilation and a proper setup)
I have seen this one perfect grow with a big yield done on a windowsill, though I`m not looking for yields, I am warry of pests. Others have claimed greenhouse bugs on their window grows, this one perfect grow didn’t even flinch. I want to somehow profit of the great powerhorse in the sky while supplementing with LEDs , maybe after april…
I’m thinking of doing indoor until summer , at least for seeds, BUT could I do this hybrid system without really worrying about pests like in my outdoor grows ? Should I cover them in a ventilated cabinet and then put them again in the window, or should I just let the live with a led setup in an outside environment ? Just a lamp above their heads, no enclosure
You are very kind , but I still try
Depending on the time of the year light supplementing With plants in a window is a good idea.Ive had plants try to flip to flower with window light it can be tricky sometimes. With extra light added dont have that problem
what about bugs in the summer? Flipping will be done in an enclosed area of course
the greenhouse pests sound like a problem. Again, I’ve seen this perfect hybrid grow on another site but with no story behind it. Maybe I’m reaching
L.E: Fuck it, I’m still doing it. I’m on probation until april but I’m not smoking anything , that doesn’t mean I can’t bake seeds.
I will post here when I have something to show.
For now, it’s just a lone seedling and 4 in the paper towel.
Thanks bros
When plants are in a green house or any room a Solid IPM is good to put in place to keep bugs out keep clones quarantined from stock plants for at least two weeks for observing and treating any hitchhikers that come with the plant.Use Yellow sticky traps to see what’s crawling around and kill stragglers,Use drops of BTI like Microbe lift in water to water pots to discourage and decimate gnats and burrowing larvae.Natural predators like ladybugs lacewings Predatory Mites if you spot an issue Sulpher sprays for mold (dont spray in flower) ect.You have to take some measures like this if those plants are in a greenhouse or Tent or grow that has perfect conditions for these little bastards to thrive with no predators you have to figure they will be living in thier own private little sanctuary with nothing to kill them so they will thrive grow and spread and eat up every leaf until your Plants look like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree
watch the stretch from the seedlings they will reach like crazy in the first 2 weeks starting seeds in a window can be a challenge get your extra light on them from the start before they get leggy and fall over on you
