I'm an idiot (electric)

So due to a personal emergency I’m a week away from my electric getting cutoff. Anyone know how to bypass a meter.(I’m not worried about the legal ramifications i just need to keep my lights on and my insulin refrigerated)

Might be faster and safer to sell stuff at the pawn shop or craigslist. Stealing power can get you killed if you don’t know what you’re doing.

If I had anything worth pawning I would. Fortunately I’m indifferent enough about being alive that I’m willing to risk it. And with any luck my Facebook fundraiser will pull through and I won’t have to fry myself lol.

Sell weed futures. Give peeps a good price if they pay you now for what you will harvest in the (hopefully) near future.

You didnt hear it from me but…if you can pull the meter itself and find a replacement meter swap them out and make sure you swap them back before the meter reader shows up

Waiting on a response from my weedman, he was already planning on buying some when I harvest anyways.

So far my fundraiser is going ok. Raised almost 1/3 of what I need. So I may not have to get electrocuted or come off a qp at half price. More worried about keeping my insulin refrigerated than I am about the plants tbh.

You said you’ve got a week before the power gets cut, right? So make ice 24/7 and fill up all the coolers you have. If keeping your insulin refrigerated is truly your biggest concern, and if you live in an area where the weather isn’t working in your favor, just keep it on ice. That’s how they do it all around the world when power isn’t available and they have to transport insulin, so it will work fine for you, too.

Like others told you, I’d recommend against it. See if your neighbor will hold your insulin or something if you can. Not sure where you’re at, but where I am, if you pull it off without electrocution, they will know you tampered with the meter. Here that means jail, a $500 fine before they’ll turn it back on plus a $1k deposit against future failure to pay that won’t be returned for a year, and even then it will just be applied to your bills. Doesn’t even have to be you that did it.

My crazy ass grandma did it on our house when my mom forgot to pay (years ago now). Mom went n paid it, grandma showed up and flipped it not knowing what was going on, they came out to turn it back on and bam, mom was in jail and we were far worse off.

Ya with modern smart grids they can detect that shit quickly and they WILL charge you for it, not to mention the weed. If you’re tight with your neighbors maybe they’ll let you run an extension cord over for a few days or something.

LOL! Forgot until you said that about the extension cord… thats how we lived the next month after my grandma did that! Neighbors let us run an extension for a fan and a light.

Just tell the power company you have medical equipment in the house and need an extension. Power company can’t (legally) and won’t ask many questions. Then pay your bill. Easy Peasy and live to fight another day

Is the levemir a clear insulin or cloudy? And is it a pen?
