I'm look for some recommendations for top end COB LEDs DIY

I’m currently using a ViparSpectra R900 it pulls 410w~from the wall. However I want some COB lighting (about 200w) for flower time! Any suggestions and build plans/ideas would be awesome.

This is a great thread with lots of info.

I think the current “goto” are the bridgelux EB2 strips. Not sure about single COBs nowadays, i’m still rocking the cree CXB3590 3 years on but I think smaller cobs on bigger boards are the general consensus for latest LED tech

https://cobkits.com used to be a great place for DIY components a couple years ago, i imagine they’re still good… timbergrowlights.com/ also offered good diy COB components for decent prices

I’m looking at these LEDs & with 1 board it says to use a 120 but I’m wondering if I can simply buy a 240 and only run the 1 quantum board for now until I can afford to grab my 2nd board? Here’s the board I’m looking at.

Yes, no problem. HLG-240H-SPEC.PDF (817.5 KB)
You will be at 50% instead of 100% on the efficiency vs load chart

That doesn’t come with a driver tho right?

@HandBanana ya I had seen that it doesn’t come with a driver. But I was wondering on the DRIVER. If I bought that board. COULD I use a 240 driver until I buy my 2nd QB. Or do I have to use a 120???
