Consumer is always right and I doubt u got a good glue if that’s the way u feel about it compared to old school strains
And to be honest I am more of a fact based guy and with weed what people think is the best is always gonna be a matter of opinion. Jut what I can say is that when it comes to cannabinoid percent stages and terpenes the new strains beat the old ones 9 outta 10. Also just cus u got a gg4 8the at ur local dispensary doesn’t mean u got a good representation of the strain. I’ve gotten shitty glue and fire glue and everything in between just like with any other strain or plant for that matter. I understand overgrow is like the orange goji fan page but until u get thc test back that show it hitting almost 30 percent please stop acting like it is the second coming of og
I don’t judge a strain by thc level as every strain reacts differently on everyone. I’ve had great highs on lower thc as well as higher thc. The snippy “god’s gift” comment wasn’t necessary. I was just using an example based on your comment that I replied on. Don’t come at me as my intentions are pure and I have a heart of gold.
Been smoking ganja for 30 years now. I can only compare the strains I’ve smoked in the present and past and imo the gg was mediocre weed on the smoke. However the bag appeal was epic, just didn’t live up to the hype it had. I’ve been thrilled with some of the more trendy strains, but since I’ve been growing, I’ve found much better strains that aren’t in the dispensaries. Just saying. if I was growing for a job and not a hobby, I’d be growing whatever the trend was.
Never said gods gift I said second coming of og as in ogkush and i wasnt directing the orange goji comment at u it was for how many times i see people referring to it like it’s some elite strain when it looks pretty good but not anything super fire and like I said I’ve never seen test results. Never said ur heart wasnt gold I am just explaining to you the thought process of the younger generation and if u have been smoking for 30 years then u and I are considered old heads
Oh, I am total an old head. lol These millenials want all that dab stuff at like 1200% thc so they can do the fish on the floor after taking one hit. lol It’s interesting. Doesn’t make it better. Just my opinion.
btw… that Orange Goji really is super dank in all respects though. It’s sticky, stanky and crazy stony. Everyone I shared some smoke with keeps asking me about it. I’m gonna grow one this year outside. Getting my grow on within the next month. I’m only doing 9 in the ground and a few in containers this year. Give away most of it. I only grow for Dad, my man and I so 11 plants last year was WAY too much for us for the year. It’s so much fun though. Can’t help but overgrow.
Did you have any favorite strains ‘back in the day’? Anything you’ve kept around over the years?
I’ve never been a big fan of gg4 myself but everybodies taste is different. It’s definitely potent but I get a funky fuel taste out of it I don’t like , had others smoke the same Buds and love them. Thats the great thing about weed so many different terp and chem profiles there is a flavor and strength for just about everybody. I will agree when it comes to commercial success it pays to follow the market and have what the consumer wants, buyers don’t want to take a chance on something they can’t easily unload , no reason to swim up creek if the place you wanna be is down stream.
Living in California, I have good access to all the new popular hype strains that are flowing throughout the state. Most aren’t really that new and I suppose most people think they are, but they are the sought after strains by the new generation of stoners.
Old heads, like myself, enjoy all the landrace/old school trains we grew up smoking and connoisseur strains that are passed around, however, I also enjoy being able to try some of the newer strains that all the young’uns talk about. There’s nothing wrong with those strains, some, like Purple Punch, seems to have been crossed to everything in sight, but those are the crosses that young people want.
If you’re trying to make a living by growing cannabis, then you grow what is in demand. Demand is always changing, so you have limited time to get your product grown, harvested and out before what you have is considered obsolete in today’s market.
You can always grow some connoisseur strains on the side for a diverse personal stash.
