Interested in growing my own shrooms

Hi ya fellas,
Been damn near 30 yrs since using any shrooms.
Im currently looking for varieties that have pretty strong body highs, as I’m looking for pain relief. No experience in growing em so I’ll be studying up, more.
Probably gonna be using the tech the employs a PC…

(Mods, please move to correct area if I’m out of place)

Respect
Steele

There’s some good channels on YouTube on it also check out free spore it’s a site that shares spore prints for free then idea is that you add some back later they do other plants including cannabis I think there based in Europe definitely worth a look

Thank you all for you suggestions with this new type of cultivation, I’ve never done. Lots of new, unfamiliar territory but not uncommon in my life.

MM, very cool of your offer to OG members and…

You could stack a ton of cakes in a shoebox, SGFC is old school and too much air, but personally, I rock shoeboxes for the most part and bags here and there. You can do cakes without a PC, but I always recommend getting the right equipment from the start. I personally started with bird seed, never done a cake, but to each their own “they” say.

Steele, welcome. We talk about shrooms here too. No worries.

For starting out, you’re gonna be sticking to psilocobe cubensis varieties (golden teacher, B+, penis envy, oak ridge, etc) they are easy to grow with basic supplies. These are all your average strength potency.

More potent shroom varieties require a LOT of experience growing to succeed. It ain’t like growing cannabis!

But… pain relief? Probably not from shrooms. Unless it is your soul and psyche that are suffering the pain and need healing

The pic I posted is Melmac from a fellow fungus friend, and I wouldn’t start with PE varieties, I recommend B+

Definitely yeah as the saying goes a cubes a cube and then there’s penis envy so best start with others first to get a feeling for it

Right… a cube is a cube, until you grow Melmac, Pearly Gates, Yeti… these are definitely next level mushrooms, then you get into Tamps or Mexicana A, then PANS then… yup watch out… the rabbit hole is DEEP Alice

SHHHHH… don’t tell nobody about these bad boys

Nice I thought so we get them here too in Scotland but hardly anyone knows about em most focus solely on liberty caps and walk straight by em lol

Awesome man, they are known to be in wood chip beds pretty much anywhere. I’m in the valley so the cyans aren’t native to this area, but they will grow here with a little assistance (rain maker I BE) or the last few years, we’ve had plenty of rain so no intervention necessary.

They say they ain’t native here but idk there’s plenty about I guess someone gave nature a push in that direction some point

I’m thinking… to dip my toe in the water, I would grab some syringes and prebagged media to try out. I know that’s scratching up hill in the long run but just to git a feel…

Any bagged media you fellas could recommend?

I like the variety and availability from you, @MushroomManMycology. I didn’t see any bagged media…

Dont go with AIO bags, check out the shroomery.org site, read the hitchhikers guide and make your own cvg mix. Thats how I started with syringes and got a yield my first time
