Hi all! I was aroung here back in the early 2000’s. i’ve been trying to improve my growing game recently, so I’m trying some new grow mediums, and thing about moving some of my plants from hydro to a good organic soil in fabric pots.
I’m also starting to do some small time breeding/pollen chucking, and experimenting with these new fangled LED lights. I’ve had good success with SIL lights and also have a new 150 watter in a little 2X2 tent to play around with in addition to my other bloom space.
I’m also focusing more on extracts and edibles for medical use and to reduce my smoking.

Welcome back to OG Non Profit.
I moved from HPS lights to Sils and then home made LEDs with Bridgelux strips, they all worked well but the Bridgelux LEDs are much more efficient. Now I just keep my sil lights for backup and one HPS light for winter to add heat and light to my flower room in my workshop, gets chilly out there now with just LEDs.

Thank you . I also am on RIU and BB . Currently shutdown for summer but am firing back up soon. I run 2 x 1k in a 5 x 10ft and am allowed to have 49 indoor plants here in Canada. I currently have a Strawberry Headband and Gorilla Ghani ( both by Bodhi ) outdoors and will be running cuts of them and hunting through some Wolfpack ( Bodhi ) that I f2’d before I shutdown.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I’ve honestly been really impressed with the SILs for vegging. I have another fixture with a 125W CFL, but i got tired of replacing the $35 bulbs and having to drive 30+ minutes to the hydro store. I made my own fixtures from a bathroom 'vanity light, wired on a cord and used SIL bulbs from Walmart. Easier and cheaper to set up and maintain. It’s let me add a LOT more veg spaces for cheap.
I’m kind of curious to see if the flowers or seeds produced with the LEDs are much different from the HPS versions. Time for some side by side trials.

I find Sils compared to HPS are good, buds maybe not quite as big but more dense and have more trichs on them. I built my own fixtures as well.
