Irritating powder on hands

I recently noticed a white powdery like chalk on my hands. Remember seeing it since flower and just now handled drying product.

I’ve seen no signs of mildew. It’s quite irritating. Anyone know what it is?

Do you have pics of it on the plant?

Dou you use mineral nutrition on your plants? Dou you use gloves?

It does look a lot like that powder in some gloves.

Yeah that is my first guess

…Talcum Powder
but there´s not that much powder inside the cloves, that it would look like this…i´d say

Were you using any strong H202 that day? Looks like my hands after ‘handling’ some 35%

That’s exactly what that is; I was gonna say the exact same thing. Temporary blanching from peroxide. :innocent:

No. Never seen it on plant. I took a microscope to some bud yesterday. Nothing out of order.

Yeah, but I don’t think I handled any. I noticed it way back when it started flowering.

I just poured into container and watered down… would it really go from liquid to white powder?

Does it wash off?

What % is the peroxide? It really does look like you just got a little on your fingers.

“peroxide burn” from google images

‘noticed it after handling dry flower’ doesn’t fit w/ this though… maybe its something else.

Peroxide burns, don’t touch high percentage peroxide, the bottle explains it’s dangerous to touch

Could very well be salt buildup from nutrients. It definitely builds up and becomes quite easy to spread around after it’s accumulated during the grow. It can be on pots or fabric of any type can be on the base stems going into the medium. Lots of places for it to accumulate and it will be quite salty… I’m hoping it’s a salt buildup and not something more harmful to your health @the_duck_of_death Cheers !!!

You can see how it goes along the raised parts of his fingerprint; I think if it were actually powder, it would be more settled into the grooves.

Peroxide “burns” like this go away pretty quickly. I’ll personally guarantee he’s gonna be fine.

It’s not powder, it’s skin cells that have bleached and swelled from the peroxide. It just kinda looks like powder.

Did you have a humidifier running with tap water? Ive read this can leave a residue feom the minerals in the water
Only thing i use ro water for is my humidifier

@Budafly you are so correct I totally forgot about this. This will absolutely cover everything in a fine white powder. Tap water in humidifiers put white powder on everything including buds walls fans pots everything… Not sure if OP was running one recently but it’s quick to cover everything in white powder in a day or 2 everything will be dusted … Cheers @BudLarfy

Also, for what it’s worth, it doesn’t have to be that strong in my experience. I’ve had that happen plenty of times with 3%. :man_shrugging:

No but this is a good idea. If I get time I’ll check the branches closer. Nothing looks off under the microscope… I could have harvested later tho :frowning:
