Im a chucker from Germany and a passionated grower for like 15 years.
I will dive in with a question…
A few weeks ago i bought a cut that should be a Jack Herer cut from 95. I Was very happy to found this one and planed to make some crosses, also for a backcross to get that cut in seed Form.
Now im at week 8ish in flower and Start getting doubts. The smell is sweet, like bubblegum and the structure didnt remind me to Jack herer at all.
So what so you think? Is it legit or is it scam?
It wasnt cheap so i called the Shop and send some pics, they sayed its definitively the cut they sell and theres no confusion about it.
Looks nice man but thats not Jack Herer. Jack is hazey looking and smell should be more along the lines of turpinoline (sp). No sweet or fruity terps atleast all the ones ive grown and smoked.
Id guess a mix up but who cares it looks fire. If theres is sold as the 95 jack it shoud be extra sativa looking. Thats the first year they released it and jack was heavily haze influenced before it became the indica jack of today. My 2 cents
Not always my friends dad had a cut he kept for decades that was very complex not the usual terpinolene type folk think of when some say “jack terps” I miss that bloody cut she is gone and I ain’t ever had a jack as good as her yet so they do or did exist just not so common even years back
This had a touch of that in there but also sandalwood ginger almost cinnamon with a hazey slightly sweet finish as I said she was complex yet to come across one as good
These two phenos are generaly favored by homegrowers (while they prefer to smoke the others lol) because it’s a skunk lead. Shorter, often fruity, stoney, easier to grow.
She’s gorgeous but have nothing to do with a jack herer.
Central finger, sharp serrations … look like more a skunk/NL for me. Way too dark and red anthos for a shiva skunk, but the shape is close. Absolutely not the floral, very NLish the fuck.
Anyway guys, when the clone seller is starting to sling dates that he found randomly on the web … you know you’re going to be raped.
Step 1 - ask a photo of the motherplant just before the pruning of your cut (CRITICAL for a ton of reasons)
Step 2 - cut of any attempt of storytelling, dramas with another clone seller, why he the only one that have the original etc … your only concern is trap questions you’re asking and that only a real holder of the strain/cut can answer correctly ^^ Pass this step brutally if you don’t have any mileage on the plant.
Step 3 - Come to OG, open a thread, share the intels without any promotion (avoid polluting campaigns in both sense) … you will always find an OGer that have or had it in rotation.

Well said that palm pheno you have looks cool. Cant say i ever had one like your left one. I remember you showing it to me last year. Is it your keeper? Those fans are freaking huge so what parent does it resemble in your opinion.
I also agree id prefer those shorter one as well. Just easier and more econmical in a small tent setup

Could it really be a bubblegum? Never grew one out but thought it looks different to what i got and more oldshool.
The plant i got really Look like a cali hybrid but got something Special so i cant really tell…
I got the Bubba Pre 98 from the same source and im pretty sure it is the pre 98. Smell is coffe/Chocolate for sure.
I only know the bubblegum from serious seeds and that looks totaly Differential to me.

cuts are nice real ones are even nicer just in case. there are Jack seeds here on this site floating around was a repo done some time ago i won a pack on a daily draw on here maybe 6 months ago so there is that option
Well im Not really a Fan of Cuts cause its always a guessing game and you gotta trust. Also i love growing from seeds but how often you got the Chance to grow a cut thats nearly 30 years old so i gotta try.
Authentic seeds of JH still available … the last batch i have in rotation are from a 2023 release. Just ordered another pack, i need a specific male i don’t got lol
