Jacks 321 Hydro discussion, questions, tips, etc

Their SDS for the product lists the ingredients as

Magnesium Sulfate 30-40%
Potassium Sulfate 25-35%
Monopotassium Phosphate 20-30%
Potassium Chloride 5-10%
Iron EDTA 1-5%

Are you sure you are not looking at the old 5-12-26 Part A analysis?

Select the 25lbs option and then zoom in the pic.

Is your pH stable at Jacks 3-2-1?

I start with RO water and once I get all the Jacks added I usually have to add PH up to get to 6.0 PH. With just the RO and Jacks its usually at 4.8 PH for me. I usually feed the nutrient solution batch right away so it doesn’t sit around in a res. I have left it sit overnight though the PH has stayed at 6.0 once I get it set there. But again that was only over night and not multiple days in a res.

Thanks!

This is why I am looking at setting up perilstatic pumps on automation, so the mix can be made right before the watering.

Check out LEDgardener on Youtube, he had an amazing series going on but he stopped uploading.

Anyway if you do get it done or find any sources, do share it here

Yeah my whole Home Assistant setup is based off his tutorials. Its a bummer he stopped posting because he was doing a new series with updated automation that I was really looking forward too.

Just got in a bag of the new Part A 0-12-26 and Ill share a pic of the analysis on the back of the bag. No nitrogen listed which is what I would have expected in a nitrogen free product lol. So it looks like the pic they have on the website for the 25lbs bag with the analysis label is from a different product that they then photoshopped in the 0-12-26 product label. Thats some sloppy shit for them to do especially knowing people are for sure going to be looking at that analysis specifically.

Hey @The_Lazy_Hippie , quick question as a relative newb to salts. I’m working with the standard jacks 123 or 132 and like the results so far. At what point would you transition to 0-12-26 right at flip or first signs of flower? Are you running this the whole way instead of the higher n part A? Thanks man!

NO. For the late flower 1-2 weeks, you DROP 5-12-26 and replace it with 0-12-26.

Thanks bud, nailed it!

Jacks is marketing the 0-12-26 as a “finisher” or “flush” so that you can completely drop out the Nitrogen the final 2 weeks without sacrificing any of the other Macro or Micro nutrients.

Myself I am probably going to use it the entire duration of flower instead of the regular Part A so I can start tapering down the N content week by week while still keeping K high and the P in a good ratio to the K.

I can also see a use case to use the 0-12-26 as a complete replacement for the 5-12-26 even in veg. In that scenario if you are getting all your N from the CalNit part B then you will need more of it in your nute mix to compensate for the no N in the Part A anymore. This will provide a boosted level of calcium to your plants as a nice added side effect. Higher calcium for cannabis plants is all the rage these days.

I was curious so I ran some numbers through Hydrobuddy and here are the results:

These first numbers are Jacks 3g/G (part A) 2g/G (part B) 1g/G (Epsom) using their 5-12-26 Part A. Nitrogen is about 118PPM with about 95PPM of Calcium.

Jacks 5-12-26
N (NO3-) 118.878
N (NH4+) 0
P 41.502
K 171.046
Mg 75.976
Ca 95.102
S 101.733
Fe 2.378
Mn 0.396
Zn 0.119
B 0.396
Cu 0.119
Si 0
Mo 0.151
Na 0
Cl 0

These next numbers I played around with different amounts using the new 0-12-26 Part A to get close to the same Nitrogen levels with almost the exact same levels of other Micro and Macro Nutrients. The amounts for this mix is Jacks 3g/G (part A 0-12-26) 3g/G (part B) 1g/G (Epsom). Nitrogen is still about 118PPM but Calcium is bumped up to 142PPM. Thats a nice jump IMO.

can even do have a dose of the 5 12 26 and half the 0 12 26 mid flower then finish last 2 weeks with the zero. i wont need any until the winter crops but finding the small bags should be fun in canada … lol

Even in the US the shipping was stupid. I think I paid almost as much in shipping as I did for the 2.2lbs bag.

thats so disgusting lol… and no hydro stores here carry it because they have no mark up to make. i guess they can go athenas route and charge 5x for the same stuff

Yeah I think thats the real beauty of the 0-12-26 formula. It really gives folks alot more flexibility to steer their nutrient mix in a direction they want to go.

I wish the P was a little higher compared to the K. Some folks think its a right on ratio but for me under LEDs I get deep purple stems and petioles for every single plant I grow so I can almost eliminate it being genetics. I’ve had some decent luck with supplementing some extra P by using Calcium Phosphate to also boost up the C and kill two birds with one stone. Has helped but still in the dialing in my nute routine phase.

same here. and wont have shit dialed in until i can find and grow the 5 strains i want to keep around. and focus on. but something new always pops up

Not exactly jacks per say but i just ordered up some of the Masterblend 0-12-24. Ive been fooling around on hydrobuddy a bit and 5g/gal of MasterBlend and 2.8g/gal of Jacks CalNitrate is a lot like Athena Pro Line Bloom 5:3 except a hell of a lot cheaper and more sulfer. Im gonna give this a shot this run.
