2 days can make a massive difference.
Because of hight issues I’ll likely flip in 10 days or so.
They had a bit of a driver upgrade. Hlg320h-24a dialed back to 200w. 50w per square foot now with room for more strips in the future.
Temperatures have risen to 90f so a new more powerful extractor fan is on its way to deal with it.
The 8 seedlings.

was wondering if any one could answer a question i have on how long it takes seeds to ripen once you pollinate the female …have 3 female blue kush in flower at different times to finish …they are 8-9 week plants …just want to make sure they have enough time to get ripe before i harvest …thanks …sorry but did not want to start a whole new thread just for one question

The best way to deal with it is to just let them go and the seeds will drop on their own. The one time I was successful in creating seeds I just took the plant when she looked ready, usually 9-10 weeks, trim as I usually would, let it dry out then I went through the buds carefully removing each seed. It’s a PITA but it’s the quickest method. Every so often squeeze a seed out if the bud. Your looking for it to be dark brown and hard to squeeze and break.

Handy way to ask questions if you want to keep in say grow journals is you can tag people with an @ and there member name, and then they get a notification.
As for seeds 3-4 weeks from pollination and you will have usable seeds, but its handy to target pollinate some lower bud sites or a side branch then you can chop and harvest the rest of the plant when you deem its ready, and then still let the seeds go longer if you want.

Perfect answer. This seed run is totally for seeds and not smokable bud. One entire plant will be reversed and every remaining female will be pollinated on every bud. The goal is to gather as many seeds as possible.
For a personal seed stash you can hit a solo branch and soak it down an hour or so later with water and only that branch will bare seeds??? Am I correct with my post @Mr.Sparkle???

thanks …made beans before but it was a long time ago and in a greenhouse … the male flowers are not open yet he has been on 12/12 for 2 weeks or so…the females are from 5 weeks to one day on 12/12 so there should be one of them that i can use …took him away from the ladies as do not want them all seeded up … and i do not care if he is real happy just as long as a few of his flowers open and i get what i want out of him …then off with his head …such an evil lady i am

I usually leave them longer say a day, but mind you i went to only make 50-100 seeds on my last go and made around 1100 because of my “meh whatever” attitude at the time so…
@riverlady you can collect some pollen once they start dropping and just dust a bud site with a small paint brush or the likes if just wanting a few seeds say 20-50 depending on the bud size, think about the size of your thumb if they are throwing a lot of pistils.

Thanks for clarifying bro. I know water kills pollen but I’m a little unsure how long you give for the pollen to take before you soak it down and put back in your grow area.

well honestly i don’t know how quick or long it takes for pollen to throw out a pollen tube and then inoculate the overy, like corn i believe takes about 2 hrs, cannabis i believe is similar time frame, but considering say a half a day or say over a work day pollinate before work then spray when you get home that should provide more than ample time for it to do its thing.

I personally THINK it happens much faster, like in a few seconds. I know I have painted plants, then hosed them off 30 minutes later…running plants from THOSE seeds NOW, so in that case, it was FAST!!!
Some much differing info on this out there, not sure what the science really is!!!

Well this run will be reverse a female and do an open pollination on all the females that remain. I’ll be taking a brush and removing pollen from the leaves and applying to every bud sites.
I did this last fem run and ended up with around 1000 fem seeds.

my last one i took about three just open pollen sacs “5 nanners each” and dusted the bud sites with them with a light tap, i knew better especially considering i had a fan on as well…

That’s the thing. My small tent isn’t needed for a good while now so I figured I’d help a brother out and do a seed run although feminised. The more seeds we can grow between us the longer the memory of his brother will remain with us. I figured with a fem run at least whoever grew them would be guaranteed bud to smoke in his brothers memory.
This project has been ongoing for a long time with the tardis build and i felt I could help him achieve his goal a little faster so an open pollination on everything is the way forward to get a lot of seeds in one go

Btw can just wait till next weekend instead of that being posting almost everywhere, honestly you’re probably doing more a detriment for him cause its adding tension rather than helping in anyway. I’m not saying goal post may or may not be moved by site powers at be, and i have no beef or quams with Cola he knows that, but if one happens to throw $hit its not hard to expect the thrower to get some on themselves.
Just need to wash up, accept that $hit happened and move along in a positive manner, that’s all.
Or at least imo.
Edit: i also never saw said $hit throwing so truefully cant comment on the matter, but doesn’t really matter as its in the past and we can only move forward.

It does matter if you know the circumstances as I do. That shit happened in a private message, just messed with the wrong guy, the one who could ban him and so he did.
What should have been just a private quarrel between two members has become an excessive ban and losing an active and helpful member generally appreciated by the community.
This thread is about a grow project in memory of his dead brother, let’s focus on this and go ahead until we can finish it and enjoy that new strain to perpetuate his memory.
