JeffWix's growroom and associated things

I’m starting this thread to keep all my pics and grow stuff in one place…you might see my pics posted in the accredited breeder section too.

@Tomahawk

To kick this off, here is my new grow. These were put in the soil on 8/20 and in 3 days all 20 were up.
These are ECSD x ECSD …ECSD x Sour Goat…SD1 x ECSD…SD1 x Sour Goat
I used ECSD bx and Sour Goat from @Shoreline and I used SD fems from @Strayfox
I picked a nice ECSD bx male and a Sour Goat male to use on 2 nice phenos of ECSD bx and 2 SD fems.
These will be the results.
After these get going, I’m popping more Fishscale from @shoreline and some RKS beans  someone sent me from here in Virginia.
Yes, it is filthy. I will get the shop vac in there tomorrow morning…next pic it will be clean but still look ghetto for the setup.

My outdoor grow of Sour Tai…35-40 days of flower now …going into November!

Nice work brother!

The Sour Thai is looking excellent - should have some really nice effects.

All your genetics this round is as close to Sour Diesel as it gets (with today’s availability). I’m not sure if it was you, or someone else - was telling me they liked StrayFox’s Sour Diesel - I think I’ve heard it leans towards the ECSD.

And RKS - it’s definitely out there - do you know anything else about the beans? …I know it’s a futile hunt, but you gotta at least check 'em out - right. :face_with_monocle:

When I did my Skunk Hunt last year, some plants had the RKS aroma, but they were not “skunk” strains - rather the Chem, Kush, Diesel family had the most skunky plant aromas. I had so many other plants around - it was hard for me to pin down the exact plant that had the RKS. And once all said & done (I lost many plants to mold - the buds just couldn’t handle the outdoor elements) - the strain resembling a “RKS aroma” was some old BC Big Bud I picked up from Jordan of the Islands. As a matter of fact, a few of his strains were very “skunky” - the Burmese x God Bud was another one.

And so I picked up a few more strains from J.O.T.I. - Purple Berry Skunk, Green Spirit, Citrus Skunk, Dutch Treat. I’ve found JOTI’s genetics run true, and are definitely “old school”. He’s keeping up with the newer strains to - he’s crossing some of the newer “current” genetics - and crossing them with his God Bud. It’s definitely worthwhile to run any of his strains, there’s gems to be found.

Whenever you have a minute, check out my Skunk City thread:
Skunk City, Elite Skunk Genetics

I went through a lot of “Skunk” and other strains too, and kept notes on everything - I just never got to posting the final results. Lots of good information to share with the community.

…sorry to get a little side tracked with “skunk”, but the community needs to know that the commercial Skunk #1 was a fraud on the growing community. It was a marketing tactic to sell more seeds. :poop: bullshit. :poop:

Now, the same thing is going on with “Sour Diesel” - breeders trying to pull another fraud on growers - pushing bunk genetics, and calling it Sour Diesel - just to sell their seeds. It’s SHAME on the breeders doing this, SHAME!

Thanks for keeping it real @JeffWix67 !

I believe the best skunk seeds would be 79 and may take some work making more seeds and hunting till you have a good skunk pheno. There was a repo on here around of 88 Heime Cheeba seeds. I was given some by a friend, some may still be around.

These are supposed to be seeds for the Appalachian Skunk that goes around here in Virginia…it is real skunky…like a dead skunk…it will be here around November and gone by Christmas…it is for sure an outdoor operation…I don’t know and I’m not holding high hopes about what it could be…I’m mainly growing the FishScale and they are coming along for the ride to see what we got…I’m trying to get a line on some of that weed when it comes out this year as I missed it last year. I’d like to get an oz or more and distribute some samples.

Yes, I grew out a 79 Skunk hybrid in my Skunk Hunt last year. It was Swamp Lilly ('79 Skunk x No. 2) from Hyp3rids - and it was an excellent skunk. Probably one of the stickiest plants I’ve grown that round; it was on the “sweet side” of the skunk spectrum - but the aroma and effects were top notch for sure.

Swamp Lilly - the kind of weed, that the burned aroma - produced a sweet skunk incense aroma - the kind you smell from across a parking lot. It will draw people in, all asking “what’s that you smoking?” The bag appeal was a solid 10 - it was white with resin. The aroma was good, but nothing like a Road Kill Skunk, rather it was a “Sweet Skunk” is the best I can describe it. And when you smoke it, it was something different and special - I can’t explain it, but it was that aroma that I would smell at a concert - and follow it to the source. It’s addictive. I remember one time at a party, it drew in a couple older heads, and they immediately asked - “whos got that sweet skunk?”.…haha

PS - I just picked up a pack of Heime Cheeba’s Vintage Skunk work. The beans are from 2016, and the genetics are much older than that. I’m interested to see what it’s all about…

I’m curious how it will go too because the couple of times i grew anything skunk related it was disappointment. Literally all the plants were unstable asf, they were scrapped in a month.

Yeah - real Skunk genetics are elusive these days; but I had to pick it up just for the nostalgia. I’ve heard Heime Cheeba referenced with some other good strains, and these seeds are from strains he was working with. And like every good stoner, things didn’t get labeled - these are from the strains he was working with, and held on for future work. That’s all I know - they were labeled as a “Skunky mix” - and they’re vintage for sure.

I’ll probably pop them towards end of year… And will definitely post a journal as well.

Yeah as soon as I can finish this other side…I can get back to semi normal.
About a month ago a tree fell on my horse trailer. It creased the roof, bent a roof vent, broke the dressing room vent, broke the window out of passenger side door and the rear sliding window, dented the fender and took out some running lights. It is my daily work trailer and had been using my 10 horse trailer in the mean time…but it is huge…I can haul 6 horses in my 4 horse without the dividers…which is what I normally do.
When I fix my truck. Which, coincidentally decided to take a shit on the emergency brake mounting plates are shot. It is from launching the boat in saltwater…I can take my trailer to get fixed…hopefully drop it off on Saturday…few weeks for parts, work etc…hope it’s back by November.

I also should have backed something out of the shop instead of doing it outside in the fuckin gravel…pure genius!
One part…complete replacement fully assembled!

Great work - you’ll feel the difference immediately, once things are back on the road.

Anytime I do any work on my car - whether it’s an oil change, new battery, even simple things like changing out air filters - it just seems like the car is “happy”, and runs better.

It had better be happy!..I hate working on vehicles anymore…but it had to be done…saved me about 3000.00 so…yeah I get stuck fixing everything because I can’t see paying someone to do it for me😂.

So here we are…started with 20…8 males found so far…12 left, hoping for 9 females…3 rows of 3 in 5 or 7 gallon bags

Males are all pushed over to the front left…the ones not selected were cut down right after.

Obviously two different styles of growing…I grow totem poles as I’m looking at the plants to choose what to pick and continue on with. I usually use 5 gallon bags and Dr Earth dry nutes and a single 720w LED…he grows for maximum yield using seeds I give him…he uses 7 or 10 gallon bags, FOOP nutes and has 3 …720w LEDs and 3…250w LEDs for the sides.

This is one plant…I put it outside when it was about 20 30 days in flower…
It is going to rain all day tomorrow, Sunday, Monday, possibly Tuesday and Wednesday and for sure after that into next weekend…so I chopped it…was hoping it would go another 3-4 weeks…but this year the plants started flowering late outside.
