glad it finished up for you

Nice job Jingles. I think im gonna do my outside the same as you did. Im gonna wash the buds anyways. I had lots of bugs this year. So i will mix up my wash in five gallon buckets and do it a branch at a time.
Is it common for you to leave all those fan leaves when you dry. I usualy trim the fans and leave the rest. Maybe i should leave more fans to help slow down the drying. Thoughts???
When i wash, I generally pull all the fan leaves. Not this time, as I will probably be making hash and butter out of this plant. I just don’t like outdoor for smoking, even good outdoor. I figure it gets washed and filtered pretty good in the sieving processfor hash, and its just for personal use. I also put a fair bit of heat and air circulation for the first 8 hours or so to get all the water trapped by the fan leaves. Its rained for a week straight here.
When i dry my indoor i ALWAYS leave the fan leaves on now. I find it slows the drying process and i get a way better smoke. Its a bit more work later, but ill never de-foliate or wet trim again. For a decade I wet trimmed, too, lol
I’ve been thinking about slowing the dry down, I know @BTYGMO has with his unit he made for drying/curing
Seems like the slower the more flavors preserved
I know faster sucks for sure ![]()
I need to attempt a slow 1 next, maybe stage things down from 70 rh to 60 the over like 30 days then hold at 60 the for about 5 more then jar for long cure, I really want to find what is the very best way… it’s unexplored
But I know you’re on the right track slowing it after tests in the cannatrol… here’s something else that may blow your mind , abandon 60 degree f dry cure temps, and get ‘em closer to 70 f or just under and chlorophyll dissipates so much faster , it’s awesome!!
Here is a jar of tops from the purple stemmed ‘The Maine Event’ looks half decent for outdoor, IMO. Smokes really smooth and a surprisingly heavy high. Smells and tastes of hay, no cure yet, but im not expecting much if a change and its a very low odor plant.
So you’re saying that the Main Event does better inside? ![]()
Ive never grown it inside. Its tailored for the out doors, but i assume it would grow awesome indoors too. Being in the bottom of a deep valley next to a river, its so wet here i almost never get to harvest outdoor. It goes mouldy long before being ripe. I mostly grow outdoor for fun, and the maine event being one of the best in rot amd PM resistance i occasionally get to harvest a few tops.
I also dont waste nutes on my outdoor. Just manuer amended soil
out door building blocks. lol ![]()
wait till them lower pop corn pop. ![]()
out door is good. ![]()
My dad thinks so too, lol
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone! Im thankful for second opportunities!

Topped the SSDD 5 days ago, its coming back pretty well, still too light green for my liking, even though its keeping up to the much greener, fuller, more vigorous Fritter Dawgs.
The sour strawberry seedlings are trucking along. They recieved a ⅛ strength feeding of the same feed im giving my bigger plants.
And the drying process for my outdoor The Maine Event plant, tops only harvested, is coming along nice amd slow. I figure this will be a 3 week dry before trim and jar. This is by far the stickiest she has ever produced, im glad i didnt let it go to waste
slow dry is always a good dry. helps keep the smoke smooth.
Smooth smoke is probably the number one attribute I look for, unless I’m actively pursuing a flavor. I’d rather smooth weed that isn’t very strong than strong weed that I’m always hacking over, or burns and smokes like it’s dried too quickly.
If I ever need to get more stoned I’ll just smoke another or hit on some hash, smooth, flavor, yield, high are pretty much my priority list
I, for the life of me, can figure this one out. Light green new and old growth, lighter in between leaf veins and downturned leaf tips. Still growing vigorously with very large leaf fans.
The other strain in the tent is doing fantastic, so I’m inclined to think it’s a sensitivity prone to the strain.
Recycled promix w/ added perlite
18/6 mars hydro 4800fc on 68% at 30"
Moderate 3 part feeding amended with calmag, ph 6.4
Has not been over or underwatered
love the across the road.
here is some of your indoor i grew out door.
cured it up for a year then broke it out.
great smoke kicks ass in a good way.
its the maine version of your romulan. so glad for this one
Not 100% sure but the pH buffer in promix doesn’t last forever. I’ve never recycled mine before but I think it might have a useful shelf life.
Could be… ph is usually where i would have gone right away, but ive got a bit of a control group. The fritter dawg and even more so, the delicate seelings are thriving in the exact same soil. Thats why im more inclined to think its more of a strain sensitivity. I DO feed fairly heavy, maybe a good flush and then half strength feedings for a few weeks.
Happy happy seedlings ![]()
Hey pal! Woah! Nice one! I didnt think the romulan would get that big, shes a beauty! Ive read romulan is fairly disease resistant, how is she holding up with the weather change?
she did really well
only a couple of buds got the rot.
like you know late season plants are always a crap shoot with our conditions in fall. she did very well and the smoke is very nice / with great buzz.
