Here’s some pics from @Guitarzan of Big Bertha. The fence is 5.5’ tall for size reference

I also wanted to give everyone a little info on Big Bertha. Bertha was a volunteer, just like Front Deck., except I have a few pictures of Bertha:
This first one is the wide shot. That green fence panel on the right is 5 1/2 feet tall, so I’m guessing that top bud is 12–14.
These next 2 are bud shots. I’d love to be able to tell you what it smelled like, but my olfactory sense is lame, so I have no idea.
She was real sticky though.
I have no idea what Bertha’s genetics are, except to say, she definitely a sativa dom plant. Excellent mold/rot resistance. It gets cool and damp here toward the end of Sept., and botrytis will eat the buds right off a plant, but I saw no sign of it with Bertha. The father is most likely the NFS male I got when I did a run on that strain.
The seeds came from Nick at From Dankest Africa. There are a few logs around here of some grows of his other strains. He told me this strain was his masterpiece, and that NFS stood for “Not For Sale”. He said I could give them away all day, but not to sell them. I call it a South African poly-hybrid, and it’s an incredibly diverse strain.
I had 7 females in the seed run, and there were 4 distinct phenos. They were all Sativa dom, but they were all finished by the end of October, here at 35.5N. The fastest was finished end of Sept. Now that I think about it, the longest might have gone into Nov, a week. They also showed great mold resistance.
Bertha was a nice plant, and the NFS should add some interesting phenos to her. Obviously, Bertha’s a big girl, and all the NFS plants were at least 8’ tall, so the kids could be chunky too. ![]()
Anyway, I think these seeds have some solid genetics in them, and the potential for some really nice plants. If anyone runs them, I’d love to know how they do. ![]()
