Sorry to hear it man. I think I would be losing my mind with that so either you’re a bit tougher or more stoic than me.
Ahhh who am I kidding? It’s tougher
They mention anything about the crystals in your ears? Supposedly can cause some crazy effects like that if they’re out of place. There’s some weird head shaking “massage” type stuff they do and people swear it helps (if that’s the issue). Sounds like some hoodoo stuff but supposedly it’s actually in the scope of science.
Yep the PT helps in conjunction with the meds. I also ‘work it’ daily here at home morning, noon, and evening. But the large amount of scar tissue on/around the brain, and pushing against the Eustachian Tube and another tube from the back of the brain to the inner ear also isn’t going to go away, just lessen to the point of making it manageable.
That’s beat man. A least it’s improving it somewhat but it sucks you gotta deal with that. The “isn’t going away, just lessen to the point of making it more manageable” reminded me of this.
Damn bud, doesn’t sound like a fun day at the farm! Hope yer feeling better. Appreciate the pics as always, those AG’s are looking more and more lanky and traditional with those long thin leaves:) the GRCD shot looks delicious too… How much longer on the Cinderevils? Love seeing all the stages of growth here…
Yeah, it’s been ‘just another day in Bedrock’ here for me lol I have good days, and bad days, but I keep chugging along, doing what I can, when I can, and when I can’t, I don’t… lol it’s that simple. I’m retired and not going anywhere, so it’s no biggie.
But, I do thank you all for the kind words and well wishes!!
LOL, and I’ve yet to go to bed. I napped like 10pm-midnight, got up and did a few things, laid down at 2am, got back outta bed at 2:15, not tired. Would be NICE if my lights were on and I could take care of the ladies (last time I grew, I lit overnight).
So, good evening / morning from the land of Taylor Ham
lol Yeah, I been up and down all night. Now I’m just ‘up’ done my morning ablutions etc feeling a bit better. Which is a good thing because i gotta lotta stuff to do today!
Feeling better is good! The only slot machines I wanna see are in Atlantic City
Got a lot on the agenda if the rain holds off… Otherwise, its tinker inside… again… Probably start putting together the control portion of my curing tent. I already use something called Home Assistant to control much of my tents, from lights to fans, humidifiers and dehumidifier. Monitoring temp, RH, CO2 and pressure with simple cheap circuitboards and sensors.
Basically gonna make another sensor array to use for the cure tent. Pop in a mini humidifier, mini dehumidifier, exhaust fan>carbon, and a small circulation fan. Create some magic in Home Assistant to intelligently control it, and wait for the tent to arrive monday. Basically, other than missing an air conditioner (and is it needed when the basement is 60F usually?), this thing will for the most part keep the inside of the tent to an exact humidity and temperature level based on sensor readings, and turning on/off wifi switches. The exhaust fan can “burp” the tent, while the humidifier / dehumidifier keep RH dialed in. On the grow tents, its pretty amazing how accurate it can keep parameters, figured this is a natural extension of it. Plus, hanging my 3 outside ladies in the basement has stunk up the whole house, I don’t mind it so much, but the better half does… This should help ALOT with that…
yep lol I’d say you’ve got a lot different approach to this than I do. Not that your way is bad, or mine good, just different lol. I’m anal retentive i guess, I gotta have ‘hands on’ I have timers and just don’t feel trusting enough not to go physically check behind them to make sure everything is smooth and good to go! lol So I pulled them all out, since what the heck do I need them for, if I’m going to be out there anyhow!?
For me, consistency lol I say good mornin and good night to my ladies daily, automating things just takes one thing off the mind. The lights are simple, there’s no intelligent programming for that, its just on / off times.
The controllers ability to read RH, and say “Turn on the humidifier” or “Turn on the dehumidifier” is what hooks me. I can graph my temp and RH and see issues arise (for example, once I turn on the house heat, my RH is gonna plummet with forced hot air furnace). Dialing in say 62% RH in a room thats 40%RH, I don’t wanna be controlling that, let the sensor / home assistant do that Depending on how tight the tolerance is, that can be a hundred on/off cycles in a day. Because I can program it to be exactly 62% which would be a lot of cycles, or 62% +/- XX% so I can add a variable range like 61%-63%.
I am just as hands on as you, proportionally of course I’d need a LOT more plants to be exactly the same.
Problem with timers is they don’t tell you there’s an issue with watering, nutes, bugs or any other problems that you would see otherwise. Sure, I have cams all over as well, integrated into HA, but its only a large scale warning sign, I cant see small details that I would in person. There is no substitute for getting up close and personal with the ladies daily my friend As much as I love my techy toys, I got plenty of dirt under the fingernails as well
pH and ppm’s is by hand here, and by eye… The guy who did the tutorial for my Home Assistant install is full hydro, and actually controls I wanna say 7 jars of nutes / adjustment chems, checks ppm, pH, ec, and the system automates and adjusts it all.
I still prefer the buffering capabilities of soil, so I haven’t taken the plunge to hydro. I have a timer / drip irrigation, but its not set to do ALL the watering, just regular additions every other day (I still have to water, and thats when I add my nutes). I do like drip irrigation for the veggies, and have used it where I can otherwise. My flower garden beds have TONS of emitters…
Closest I have to hydro is the bubble cloner, and an NFT gutter system for lettuce in the veggie garden. I did pick up the mini octopup setups that @GramTorino and @Papalag have, so I can play with em, but I havent got em setup yet. Still gonna be a soil/coco/perlite mix there…
I’ve always refused to go ‘hydro’ lol too many things can go wrong. If you lose power and don’t have a genny on standby, kiss everything goodbye!! hydro isn’t bad in some respects, as it does a bit faster, but the ‘taste’ is pretty much gone, compared to soil-grown…
So like any method, there are pros and cons. it’s ‘grower’s choice’ when it come to what method, since there are lots to choose! lol
Its true… But I recall it being all the rage around here in the 90’s. That “hydro taste”. uh… ya mean the chemical taste? I’m sure its gotten better, but the “hydro” around here was very burn-ey tasting… Likely no flush or bad flush. The little woman did comment this summer on the taste of the lettuce in the NFT being a bit chemical, and same seeds in soil in the garden weren’t. Obviously not as concerned about nute levels with lettuce like I would be my plants, but I even thought I was diluting the mix further with rainwater that would get channeled to the reservoir.
I like soil… Always have… I have a genny here, and the connections to feed the panel, was a requirement for saltwater aquariums. Even a 1hr power outtage could mean a tank full of death.
I look forward to having a ground floor loading area. Carrying 5g bags of soil to the basement is a PITA. But thats what I grow in
Hey @JohnnyPotseed, the wife and I were the only ones in the theater yesterday for Dune. So we took selfies, texted with the kids, put our feet up and talked really loud. Oh and we really liked the movie.
