Hes a good man. I liked him pretty good when i met him.
He’s a big help to us around here. He can’t always come on a moments notice, but he does manage to get over here as soon as he can for stuff like this.
In emergency he can pull off his job right then.
With the highs being over 100, this trip is almost important. Well, for Rose, anyways. All the heat does for you is make all your babies be born nekkid! Lol
This AC is ‘limping’ after thawing this morning. So we good with it on low and temp set at 72. Hopefully it’ll take care of stuff until he makes it.
Sounds like freon leak But Im no AC mechanic.
I wish we could keep our house at 72. Our old ass ac in this Florida heat would explode if we went under 74 lol
How does something UNTHAW? REFREEZE???
Naw brother, it’s more of an ‘old age’ issue lol this thing was in here when we bought the place 8yrs ago, and no idea how long it’d been here even then! But, after buying this new/bigger unit, it really doesn’t matter. Son has came over every year for the past few years and cleaned off the coils, filter, radiator, etc including this year.
If it was a freon leak, I’d think it woulda done this a LOT sooner.
edited/corrected lol
Has something to do with low freon levels. It will freeze up when under heavy load. Turn it off and let ice melt then restart. Will usually cool a while until it freezes up again. Again…. Im not AC mechanic but pretend to be one on internet.
see this edit, @Smooth
Couldnt leak have developed lately?
This thing is seriously old! lol
Like us? Lol
Anything is possible, however after buying a new unit. It really doesn’t matter now, lol
RIP
Hawhaw. Just messing with you, man.
Actually, i sitting here thinking about your AC. I have central. My outside unit froze up a couple years ago. Big chunk of ice around the piping. I turned of AC and let it completely unthaw. It worked a couple days. And then it took a shit again. My good friend is an AC business owner. He came over and looked all over the unit. Could not find anything where freon was leaking. Until he got to the inside unit. A pinhole in the A Coil unit. He filled the unit back up with freon and it fixed it for about a year. Until the freon leaked out i got a new A coil and it works fine.
Bottom line you probably had a freon leak that finally got bad enough to shut down.
That’s more than likely the scenario here. But after all these years of hard use, it was time, lol I just kept putting it off.
‘one more year, baby… one more year’
I would say it was time for a new one. Theres really not much to an AC. Probly your leak was in the compessor anyways. If so, just almost as cheap to buy a new one than to replace the compressor.
Really???
See @JohnnyPotseed what you’ve done here… ![]()
Well…
First you buy her flowers… = UNTHAW…
Then you tell her WHY you bought her flowers… = REFREEZE!!!..
Then you pull out the jewelry… "OH MYYYYYY!!!.. melt… and then the heat evaporates the problem…
Or so I’ve heard. It’s called quick climate change…
