I hesitate to tell you if it’s processed. You never know exactly what you have eaten.
Sounds like my dad, he is/was the hardest working man that I’ve ever seen. He was an Ironworker/supervisor for 40+ years. Cancer has slowed him down to a crawl but he still has the no bullshit attitude!
Have known some dairy farmers over the years…greatest respect for them!
Milking twice a day, rain or shine, weekends, holidays just DON’T exist!
Brutal…
It’s funny you mention that, my grandfather used to say the same thing lol.
Had to be a farmer lol
It was a good life. We’ve, pretty much, sold all the farm stuff. Only kept the haying stuff and the tractors so I don’t have to buy hay for the few I kept.
Yessir, always up super early and he also was an amazing mechanic. He taught me everything I know about gasoline and diesel engines. I remember when I blew the transmission in my Mitsubishi 3000GT, everybody was telling me that it couldn’t be rebuilt because it was spring loaded hard to put back together and that caused a lot of worrying in me because I certainly did not have the money for a new transmission, yep we pulled the trans, and pop had it all apart and back together in a couple hours. Mind you, he had a lung surgery scheduled for the next morning and he wanted to make sure my car was backed up and running before he was out of commission for a while. I miss that man so much
My dad stayed drunk all the time. Except when he was beating the kids.
He had 2, 1955 chevys and they each had a trans in them but only 1 motor. He used to swap the motor back and forth between the two cars pretty much every other weekend depending on what car he wanted to take to the car shows.
I also remember when I was probably about 9 or 10 years old and it was the winter time so I used to always stay down in the living room to sleep because my room was the Attic but there was no heat up there. Long story short a drunk driver hit our front porch late one night and i heard the crash so i went n got nan n pop up, and instead of Pop calling the cops he let the guy sleep it off in our living room, and towed the guys car down back behind our one barn. Next morning, pop gave the guy some money and towed his car to his house for nothing. Never asked for anything from the dude to fix the front porch. About 2 months later, the guy showed up with money to give us for the damages.
Lol lucky guy, had a dad growing up and everything
Jokes aside, I’m really sorry to hear that man
Nah, I’m over it.
Me and my brother had it really bad growing up. But everyone responsible is dead and buried.
I actually like seeing and hearing good stories about father son relationships. I guess cuz it’s one of those things I never had. Glad others did.
Yea I never knew my father, and my mother was never around even today, i know her and we talk here and there but there’s no bond really. she left me with them when I was a month old. that’s why I was raised by my grandparents. And I knew that it wasn’t their responsibility to take care of me and that’s why I kind of always stuck around by them because I knew as they got up in age I’d be able to return the favor. He passed in 2016, Nans still here though. I’m her caregiver, had to leave my job a couple years ago because nobody else in the family wanted to help.
We do what we do for the people and things we love. Onto my next thing lol… got a 4x2 tent that’s going to be put back into action as soon as I get around to making the space
Hats off to you, man! Not a lot these days that would do that.
