I use Fish Shit (a cap full) in the mister bottle. I use various cloning gels, clonex is about as good as any, I do use that more than others. Fish Shit is the brand name, lol
I use a cloning box and also use other methods, tray with rapid rooter plugs and humidity dome, tray with soil mix in small (2"-3") pots and humidity dome. Heating mats under any tray,

Best practices for sure. With the Frankies what has been your success rate?

Overall, mid to upper 90s with Ms Frankie, I don’t know anyone that has a consistent 100%

Hey @Gumbert , Cannabis takes about 1/2 the water of tomatoes on average. HP

okay… That is excellent.

I have a ton of rockwool cubes left over from my hydro years, I was thinking they may lend themselves well to rooting cuttings. Any thoughts or experience using them?

I’ve used and also have some rockwool cubes. Like I said, many methods.

That’s good to know.

What method of rooting do you use for cannabis?

LOL everybody’s got to start somewhere, right? What would you guess your success rate to be?

I found a diy bubbleponics instructions for a simple system using a 3 gal black bucket and cut 6 hole in the lid and cut foam pucks to fit.

I used clonex liquid in it but have also read the straigh water works nearly as well. Had 6 cutting go in and 5 took root started in 8 days

Also, some strains take to cloning better than others. My ISS clones very easy. Just a few days and there will be roots. Frankie is like that, too. Now, those Vortex clones??? I now have four, but it took FOREVER for those rascals to root. I had two pineapple skunks in the cloner at the same time. They rooted in about six day. Those Vortex took nearly six weeks. I shit you not.
I’m going to go back to my old method for a change. Double cup and a Ziploc over the top for humidity. Take my cuttings, make a 45° cut, dip into Clonex, the directly into pre moistened soil in the Beer cups. Cover with the Ziploc and under some light. Seems to work well for me in the past.

And there’s another important factor in cloning. The 45 degree cut on the stem. It needs to be about 1/4" below a node. If on just a stem with no node, you’ll need to skin/scrape the thing about 1/2"-1" all the way around it, to entice the roots. lol
The angle IS important. Also, sterilize the scissors with Iso on a paper towel. Do this before you cut on any plant.

Great information! Thank you.

If I remember I sometimes take a clean razor blade and lightly scrape the outside skin off the end before I dip in the hormone. And yes, I forgot about nodes.

I’ve tried liquid cloning solutions in the water… it doesn’t do anything different than straight water. I only use straight PH’d water (6.0) in the cloning box. I also have a bubble cloner (DIY) same there. lol Like I said, many methods…

There it is!! Thanks @BigMike55 !

I know in the vegetable world some cultivars are easy to root where as others require strict adherence to their nutrient and mineral requirements in order to force the to grow roots.

So you have had good success with Frankie, that is great news to this noob.
