Good morning Johnny and all the good folks here! Don’t know what’s it like around you but looking out my window at snow and 40 mph winds flying around :crazy_face:. Smoking a few bowls cause I’m headed out to shovel the sidewalks at school for the kiddos, ah the good life of a custodian lol. Everybody have a awesome day!!

@JohnnyPotseed, what is the longest period of time you have been able to keep a Mother plant in the veg stage?

About 7 yrs.
Bonsai’d them. trim the rootball every 6months

To trim the rootball, you cut an inch off all sides and bottom. then put a little potting mix in bottom of pot, place the plant/plug back in shake potting mix down around sides. Shake the put good to settle (don’t want air pockets)tamp it and give a good dose of straight water.

okay sounds good, I will keep the sisters going to produce clones for flower.

When you say trim the root balls, does that mean you transplanted them into a different pot and trim the roots in the process every 6 months?

I typed description on ‘how to’ in edit above
I used the same pot.

All my mothers were Bonsai, in 5" pots. Give up 30-40 clones every couple of weeks. If not needed for awhile, just give em water and minimal nutes until you want clones. Then up the nutes for a week or two.
