Good morning Johnny, good morning OG’s. Happy Good Friday to all of you. This is the weekend I quit smoking 14 years ago. Have a nice weekend everyone.
Right on, Brother.
I don’t remember what the date was, but I do know that it was definitely in 2015 March 8ish, when I quit. Smartest move of my life. Glad to hear that you made a wise decision too.
Hell yeah, this is what I love to see. Congrats to all of you who wanted to quit smoking cigs and have actually managed to quit! Smoked my last cigarette a little over 8 years ago and have never thought of going back. Took me multiple attempts to quit before I was able to stick with it. Finding myself a good woman who’s a non-(tobacco)-smoker really helped my motivation!
Sometimes I get a good jonesin’ for some pipe tobacco. I used to looooove sitting on the porch enjoying a good puff. A few times I’ve mentioned wanting to smoke a pipe again and my wife gives me a look… you guys know “the look” when her eyes say “do what you want, but it’ll be your ass if you do!”
I quit smoking in 1991. I was up to two packs a day.
Have you seen the price tag on them sumbitches, lately. Holy crap. How can anyone afford to smoke, these days?
I knew for sure that I had it licked because one time, I woke up from a dream, where I slapped a cigarette out of my hand while I was sleeping and said you don’t smoke anymore and that’s when I woke up in bed and chuckled
If I had kept all the cash I would have spent at two packs a day (I quit in 82), I could buy myself a Governor’s office if not a Presidency!!!
Not being one sided politically… I’m an equal opportunity politician hater.
I remember my uncle Ray as a kid. He smoked Camel non-filters. Lit one off the other. All day. 4-5 packs a day. When he bought smokes, it was a case of cartons.
I never started as it cut into my alcohol $.
Rose and myself both are ‘smokers’ But we’re a bit different in our ways. We order natural tobacco and tubes on line for around 20yrs now. None of the 7000+ chemicals like you find in commercial cigarettes sold everywhere.
We have 2 machines, 1-handcrank (for power outages) & 1-electric. It costs us under $20.00 for 2.5 cartons, unlike the outrageous prices found everywhere!
I already have full blown Emphysema (agent Orange peripheral contact in Nam) with one foot in the grave! lol So, it ain’t like quitting now is gonna save/help me! We smoke maybe a pack a day, each.
Now you’re reminding me of the hours I spent filling my own cigarette tubes lol. Went on a kick of doing that for a few months. A pouch of American Spirit tobacco cost about as much as 2-3 packs at the time, and would easily fill at least a half carton’s worth of tubes.
Tried rolling myself a joint one time with tobacco at the roach end. I got a BIG lungful when I didn’t realize it had burned down past the weed and so I got a huge rip of straight tobacco - I was nearly seeing double from the head rush I am not European enough to mix tobacco in with my joints. Never again!
Yeah, that’s a waste, as far as we are concerned. We’ll smoke a cigarette or a joint but not mixed! lol ugh!..
Now that sounds just plain Nasty!!
I don’t know if that’s something ya can consider ‘European’ I know folks do it here in the states a long time now, also. I did give it a try… once! Nastiest/waste of good Ganja ever!
Same with blunts and flavored papers, I don’t like to smoke anything but weed in a joint. If I need to smoke one and it’s not enough I’ll roll another one.
Everyone who smokes, quits at some time. Think about that one.
lol yeah sooner or later.
lol I’ve had to slow down to almost none for reasons other than ‘I quit’ but never have quit. (on my own) maybe in jail or hospital but that’s all.
I quit smoking October 2014. Best move I made as well …
At one point I had quit smoking pot. That lasted a year and a half. Picking it back up may be one of the best things I ever did!
Same thing I said about quitting cigarettes applies here also! lol Never have I ever…on my own, at least!
You WILL quit, someday.
