Jones Organic Indoor Journal

So I guess powdery mildew stunts growth?! I never knew that thought it was just a weak fungus that grew in high humidity and just wiped off easily. Just wondering how bad it affected me, I have picked off some small bits of bud rot some because a worm was inside. Not going to use it not but for future reference help would be nice. I found this stuff called dr zymes says you can use it all through flowering just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this issue? I’m trying to keep it strictly organic and don’t want to fuck up anything :call_me_hand:t2:

Never used Dr Zymes, so cant say, I don’t spray anything after buds start forming. Is it for the PM, mould or bugs

Well then do you not have issues with powdery mildew and mold where you are?

Only when growing outside and why I dont grow outside anymore.

The few times I have had pm I remove anything that has it on it and use water and hydrogen peroxide mix, as the hydrogen peroxide converts to water. Then keep an eye on my RH and defoliate the plants for better air movement.

Or I blow some sulphur dust in front of the fan and let that blow about, if I don’t have the H2o2 but I rarely have pm in flower and never had mould in my flower room, only growing outside.

I just cut out or remove the mould or pm infection and chop the plant asap when outside. It seems like a losing battle to me once it starts, and you have no control of environment.

I’ve seen people have been building plastic roofs over the plants to keep the rain off during flower and it’s supposed to help a lot. I feel like I’m getting better at managing outdoor although you never know year to year what’s going to happen there’s definitely been a wealth of knowledge surfacing at least for me in recent years and its helped me tremendously! I thought about applying hydrogen peroxide but I’m weary of spraying glthe flowers with anything I’ve just been plucking g little bits but it sucks I’ve lost a decent chunk!

Yeah I have a couple of friends who grow in 50 gal pots outside. The pots sit on pallets and they move them in and out of their garages when the weather gets crappy.

Another buddy uses a metal frame potable gazebo with a big sheet of plastic over it, that works well.

They all still get problems with pm and rot though, it’s tough outside lol.

Looks good what brand is that one?

Another product you could look into for spraying to harvest is Purecrop1, but it can get a lil pricey… you’d prob want either a Petra fogger or knockoff.

@Shadey What’s your co2 setup? Trying to find something automated for the shed

Lol, I use a bucket of fermenting wine or sugar water when making alcohol in my flower room.

I also use a small homemade tiki light when not making wine, with a very low flame. It runs on wood alcohol $10 a gallon which will last a month to 6 weeks, but you have to light it after lights on and put it out before lights off. Even a small flame will get the Co2 ppms up around 2000. I only use it 6 to 8 hours a day so long as I remember to blow it out.

That’s pretty cool you actually monitor it still? I was thinking about a flame but idk if I’d trust it kinda sketchy in a sealed shed and I’m really wanting something more automated that I don’t have to attend to everyday just don’t know what’s good I was thinking about the trolmaster co2 controller

Labrat made one and measured his ppm I am just going off his measurements. Gets to 2000 ppm in about 15 minutes, and will get higher, thats why you only really need it for a few hours a day in a sealed room with no extraction.

Not used it this year as I have shut down since May 1st. I usually use it in the summer when I run the aircon in the flower room and its pretty much a sealed grow from that point.

A 2 inch piece od 1/4 inch copper pipe soldered to the lid of a 1 liter mason jar and a bit of twine for a wick. I put it in a small steel bucket on a shelf above the aircon unit so all the CO2 gets blown around the room.

An automated set up is better but more expensive.

Just curious what goes in the jar ? Don’t know a lot about homemade c02 generators I run a natural gas burner in the tin box but it would be nice to have a bit of c02 in the veg room at times.

I’ve ran this in the past with mixed results .
