Welcome to the land of the blues. Although we love all cannabis.
Enjoy my friend, and feel free to share. I’m here to learn and teach, and to teach and learn.
Good luck in your flowering! Looking forward to the f4 in mine now, hopefully she will spice things up. If your using her as a breeder i know its top shelf cant wait. Hopefully see some nice grow logs here featuring your stuff
Vanilluna
Original stock given to me by Dj. We made 5 f6 lines, and 10 outcrosses! Should be fun when we get to testing them all. Heres a pic I been working on black background with. This shows the classic blueberry sativa traits, with the resin, purple and magenta hues, and wavy claw leaves. Also this pheno has the tight spear tip nug structure. All plants had vanilla honey and melon as their base. This phenoype usually comes with earthen mint, more of the kush expression.
Beautiful specimen!! I saw this pic and it reminded me of the cover of DJs book. If u happen to know, what was that cultivar on the cover?? Its been awhile since ive pwrused that book but man that plant on the cover, absolutely stunning!! Loving the black back drop too!!
Awesome thread here @Blue_Star_Seed_Co! It’s a treat to see all of these updates that highlight your skill and talent with the plants and your breeding strategies.
Howdy @jonnyonthespotAZ, as per DJ on Icmag:
So, parent stock for the ‘Blueberry’ and ‘flo’ are exactly the same as they have been for the past 13 years. ‘Vanilluna’ and ‘Cocoa Kush’ were both created in 2005-‘06 and the exact same parent stock has been used for those since. ‘Vanilluna’ and ‘Cocoa Kush’ are from the exact same breeding stock (mother side) as the first version of ‘Blue Satellite’ (Swiss version, the same plant that is pictured, though mislabeled, on the cover of my book ‘Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis’).
It’s pretty neat to see you notice the shared ancestry of Vanilluna and the first version of Blue Satellite which is the plant pictured on the cover of DJ’s book Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis. Massive respect. Many blessings and much love
Yeahxhe throws up aome sweet pics and the process he go thrus!!
Thank u for confirming that, they just looked super similar. I just love being around plants, they make me smile and not just our “special” plants either. Prolly from growing up in my grandpas greenhouse helping him each winter and spring getting rdy for the beggie selling season!! Ah man, got me reminiscing, sitting on the corner selling a bakers dozen of corn for $1, sometimes a $1.25!!
Back on topic, sorry, lol. Gonna b poppi g a few of those fems from the Box Set this weekend!! Super ezcited for those!!
Pink Martini
Blue Runtz x Pink Panties
Clone shared by a friend. Shes a nice smoke but Im not a huge runtz fan. I sent her off to my team that loves runtz to see how she compares to our other runtz stock.
Def looks runtz im still on the fence about it, grew 4 last year. Its got a very nice smell but high kind of blah. Reminded me of every other new hype
…good terps so so high. Beautiful flowers though bro
Nice job btw keeping that canopy even. Also i want to be on your smoke test team
please? Jk but man must be nice sampling blues all day.
@Blue_Star_Seed_Co your bubbleberries a week later, slow but healthy now. Cold stunted them for 5 days. Some how i freaking accidentally gave them bloom food only 1 got burned. Hoping for some good growth now that temps r good…
How those ancestral chems / ancestral skunks lookin dude? Whats the plan with those old skunks? Or will you be releasing it once youve worked it some
Its likely just the cold that stunted them. It makes it hard to uptake nutrients and they stay wet longer, keeping oxygen in the root zone low and inhibiting root growth. Are you in soil?
I finally sorted all the skunk seed grow pics from this last hunt. I will share those soon. This generation still had to many hermaphrodites to release public for my standards. I hunted 160 ish of them and have a good 10 to 12 females that are sexually stable and reak of rks. Those females are being grown out and shown here. The plan is to verify stability, smoke test the clone selections for quality of effect, and the rks aroma. I will likely make feminized crosses of the stable females from the clone smoke tests, then test those for quality and stability. If they pass, those could be the first public sk1 releases from me. The chem d x skunk was more stable. Its possible after testing, this generation may be ready to go.
