Just came back from vacation…

Just got back from a 4 day vacation. Had someone watching my plants. Most of them look fine except this one triple goddess.

She was slightly overwatered before i left but was drying out thursday. The person watching said the pot seemed dry Saturday and they added a liter to the 1600cu pot (4ish gallons). They said the plant looked fine on Saturday.

Im leaning towards something PH related due to overwatering, i know this strain can be fussy. However its such a sudden change that im curious if anyone else has any insight.

All my other plants looked happy, including another that had issues with overwatering the same time as the triple goddess. (Slightly visible to the right. Yellowing on the tops started a few weeks back but had been improving)

Honestly kind of seemed like her water intake was slowing down the week leading up to going away. Its my first run in a few years with organic coco so im still getting back into the swing of how much water it holds.

For reference this photo was taken on the 16th so 9 days prior. Triple goddess, the lady thats cooked, is back left. PNLH x RAB that also had overwatering issues is just infront of it.

Is it possible they used regular water and it got hit with some chlorine?

Based on what you say PH and overwatering makes sense to me. Looks like leaves started to curl up mostly and also some weird varigation going on on a lot of the leaves. None of that is visible in the before photo. Lower leaves look droopy. Ive seen those symptoms before when I screwed up watering.

Therefore it looks to me like she has issues accessing nutrients.

What water was used? Do you PH your water? Did the caretaker PH or was it mixed already?

I dont grow Coco, but I know PH needs to be lower than in soil. Like slightly under 6 I think?

Definitely not. Its well water so no chlorine in the system. We do have a water softener but its been normal. Very easy to tell when its off.

Well water, very slightly acidic. Usually around 6.5 PH. I haven’t adjusted the PH of my water in years. Didnt PH either last time i ran organic coco years ago.

Im probably going to kill her. I have a few more clones i can run again. Id be shocked if this plant produced anything worthwhile now. Especially when theres stuff that can fill its space.

Ill take some good pics of the rootball. It seems like some sort of root issue probably triggered by overwatering.

Yea if they appear yellowish or brown that would indicate overwatering

I think whatever that is, did not manifest in just 4 days.
Sugar leaf up curl, and limp hanging leaf, it is unusual, when surrounded by fine growing plants, that look lovely.
If you do cut it, I’d look real hard at the root ball, see if it smells off.
Damn harsh!!

Im remembering now, i had something similar happen to the mother of this clone in veg. A little sad and droopy one day added water because it had been a day or two since last water, so i assumed it had dried out and the next day entirely wilted and dead.

The previous incident happened suspiciously close to a foliar spray (within 48 hours)so i assumed i cooked it with a foliar. This plant never got any foliar at any point btw.

I suspect its something weird with these genetics triggered by overwatering but it’s definitely weird. Never seen such a rapid decline in 5ish years growing. A little frustrating because i was away for it so i didnt get the full picture as it was happening.

Makes me wonder if it’s infected with hlvd. The virus peaks in flower and causes weird issues. Be careful removing it, clean your tools in bleach if you cut anything.

“Just like during vegetation, flowering HLVd-infected plants will appear smaller than healthy plants; and they may also exhibit unexpected yellowing of leaves near the bud sites, similar to the photo below.”

Hlvd but healthy. Yours looks similar but over watered as well

I wondered that too for a point when the first died, but never had any tests done.

Never had any significant symptoms. Branches were super springy, no weird smells. Clones rooted well. Ill check again tomorrow morning on the branches and likely pull her out

Pull her out of my tent this morning. Didnt have time to chop her up yet. She definitely stopped drinking at some point. No water since Saturday, when she was apparently perky, and the medium is still soaked. Im assuming water uptake stopped before i went away if its this wet still and only got a liter of water saturday.

Branches are still super springy. Will get some pics when i dispose of her after work

So the stems aren’t brittle and don’t easily break? Might not be hlvd then

Nah i was bouncing them quite a bit. I also trained the shit out of it similar to manifold style into flower. I definitely would have broken a ton of branches.

I suspect this pheno of triple goddess is just overly sensitive to overwatering. Has been somewhat fussy each plant ive grown of her. Definitely not super easygoing genetics

Sometimes, my LAB’s will snap a slower going plant into another gear.
I think the LAB’s is simply, reacting to organic goodies my medium, sparking the root activity.
But that is me guessing.
